Although I took the photographs from my cell phone camera, this is NOT the location (home) that I took the photographs at??? I have no recollection of ever beeing at this church! Yet GPS sais that me and my cell phone were here! Huh?

OHDS has been such an amazing experience for us. My daughter, who started in 2nd grade with no prior knowledge of Hebrew, no formal Jewish education, and who comes from an egalitarian, Conservative Jewish family, fit in immediately. She runs around the house singing Hebrew songs, integrates ideas from Torah into every day conversations, and loves participating during Shabbat and Holidays. She has made beautiful friendships and the school has welcomed us both into their warm, supportive community. From the Hebrew immersion, to the study of mindfulness in the classroom, the integrative projects that challenge kids in science and humanities, the focus on critical reading and thinking, the unbelievable art program, and the integration of middot (personal values) throughout the curriculum, this school has exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier here.

We have been part of the Action Day family for the last 5 years. Our oldest son started there at 6 months and our youngest at just 10 weeks old. We couldn't be happier with the care that is provided at Allen. Everyone knows just how hard it is to put your children in the hands of someone else, especially at such a young age, and Allen took all of that worry away. The best part of Allen is the community that it provides. Every single staff member knows our family, as well as our boys, by name and goes above and beyond to make sure that we have everything we need. The simple "hellos" and greetings from the office staff assure us, everyday, that we are valued and seen as part of the community. Our oldest son is more than ready for Kindergarten and our youngest is thriving at 7 months old, due greatly in part, to the teachers at Allen. They provide the most rigorous curriculum, while at the same time, the best individualized attention, especially to our infant. It was of the utmost importance to make sure we chose a place where our children would learn and be cared for, and where we would be a part of a family, not just a school. Allen does just that... and more!

Since 1876 Old MissionSchool has been teaching children on the central coast of California. This is a school that cares deeply about not only educating children in the sciences, but also in personal and social responsibility. The teachers pay close attention to the students needs and to the interactions between students in order to help ensure that not only are the gifted students challenged but all students are provided the education and direction they need to be the very best they can be.

School has teachers like you remember who are there to provide the very best learning experience who actively communicate with parents and are demonstrating the their faith through service.

I attended this Amazing school from 2005-2012 and learned amazing skills from everyone there. The teachers there aren't your typical "Do chapter 5, problems 13-18 and we'll review it tomorrow", they work with you until you understand it with the patience I'll only ever hope to have. I strongly suggest this school for anyone interested in a Montessori education.
