St Leo's School
1051 W San Fernando St, San Jose, California, 95126, United States
My daughter has enjoyed the whole child approach that St. Leo's offers and she has benefitted from the nurturing environment and caring staff. St. Leo's builds confidence into the children and encourages leadership. St. Leo's is a school that community minded parents and Silicon Valley leaders are enthusiastically drawn to. Of the graduating class of 2015, 100% of St. Leo's 8th grade students were accepted into the private high schools of their choice. This year the school and parish are celebrating their centennial year and have many wonderful events planned in honor of this milestone. It is a very exciting time at the school. The new principal, Mrs. Cosentino, is an outstanding visionary. She is passionate about children and works tirelessly to make St. Leo's the best it can be. A brand new STEM lab has just been completed, the first school in the Diocese to get one, and leading edge technology solutions is a high priority with this administration. We whole heartedly recommend St. Leo the Great School.

We cannot find the words to express how extraordinary and special ACS is - children flourish in its kind, caring and respectful environment, and teachers and administrators spark their students’ love of learning each and every day. Academically, students are well-prepared for high school, and from a development perspective the administration is passionate about ensuring that the talents and gifts of every student are discovered and nurtured. Students genuinely enjoy and care for each other and their teachers, and both parents and students love ACS.

MMS is an amazing school that has a balanced curriculum that develops creative, intellectual, and ethical growth in children. It is in my opinion, the best place to raise a child to be articulate, thoughtful, compassionate and well rounded. My daughter has been at MMS from 1st to 6th grade. She will be graduating MMS in 2022.
BASIS Independent Silicon Valley
1290 Parkmoor Ave, San Jose, California, 95126, United States
I've been with BASIS for 3 years, and here is my opinion:
The curriculum is far more advanced or intensive than any other school I have seen or known. The teachers try their best to help out struggling students, and their specialization in their subjects allows them to easily ease any confusing areas. Especially recently, BASIS has started getting rid of some lower quality teachers and replacing them with higher qualities ones, something which just about all students can support.
The only problems I really have with BASIS are non-curriculum/teaching based, i.e. the building... those are minor anyways. But we really only come to BASIS only for the curriculum.
Note: There are so many people at BASIS who complain about “stress,” which I fail to see a reason to. The main source of homework problems is not that there is too much, but rather people just don’t do it until right before they sleep. As far as I know, the majority of people who complain about homework just stay up till 1 browsing Snapchat or watching TV.
If people choose to put no effort into their work, they can leave. Everyone else is perfectly fine with that. But it gives them no justification to complain about homework loads.

If what you want is a hoop to jump through to get your kid credits without support or actual learning, then this is the place for you! You will receive a HUGE PACKET of BUSY WORK and will not be provided the materials to support answering the meaningless questions. Work on the walls suggests curriculum at a superficial depth of knowledge--basic recall and regurgitation.
UPDATE: BYU Online offers much better courses and saves you $100.
