Shore Country Day School
545 Cabot St, Beverly, Massachusetts, 01915, United States
This is the leading Pre-K through ninth grade independent school on the North Shore. Any reviewer or "guide" who asserts that Shore rates students on smarts alone does not know much about this school's caring teachers, who are dedicated to children's emotional and social well-being just as much as their academic performance. At Shore, courageous effort in the classroom, on the sports fields, in the arts, and throughout the community are rewarded far more often than "winning." (Disclaimer: I am the school's director of communications as well as the parent of a Shore student.)

The weather isn't really THAT fayer
The Advent School
15 Brimmer St, Boston, Massachusetts, 02108, United States
I went to Advent for 8 years and can easily say it's been one of the most influential things in my life. Right now I'm going to Milton Academy and even after only being here for a few months I know that what I've learned from Advent has been helping me everyday. It's a really unique school and all the fun projects we did, whether making a movie or portraying an immigrant, have translated really well to Milton. I am really lucky to have gone there and I believe that anyone who decides to go there will see how amazing it is as well.
Nashoba Brooks School

Greenwood School
14 Greenwood Ln, Putney, Vermont, 05346, United States
Greenwood gave my son back his smile, self-esteem and love of learning. They are helping to set him on the journey to self-sufficiency. The teachers and staff are exemplary: down to earth, caring, and smart. There is no "we have all the answers" and false promises, but there is optimism. Great school.
The Park School
171 Goddard Ave, Brookline, Massachusetts, 02445, United States
I find it acutely hard to believe that anyone would have such an unfortunate experience at the Summer at Park camp! My children have been going to this camp for three consecutive years now and have become a part of what I feel is a 'summer family'. Never once have either of my children come home complaining about being bullied in any way. In fact, the friendships and relationships they have formed while at this camp has moved beyond the boundaries of summer at park property lines, these friendships continue into the Winter months, too. It is such a delight for me to watch as they return each summer to their favorite staff and/or counselors. I have quite often mentioned to my husband that on the days that I drop off and collect the kids, that those counselors have as much of a smile on their faces as they did that morning at drop-off. As for 'Queen Mary' (yes, I too call her that), this woman runs an entire camp! One day I asked how long some of her employees had been at Park only to learn that they return year after year after year. One of the reasons why I bring my kids back each year is because of the stability in seeing the same familiar faces. So, I ask this question: If Queen Mary is 'rude and dismissive and has staff, counselor's and campers call her Queen Mary' then how does she keep staff happy enough to have them continuously return, year after year after year. I have never heard anything so preposterous in a very long time. Yes, she is constantly on-the-move and yes at times she may be otherwise occupied while trying to coordinate streams of cars picking kids up, staff asking questions, children running for her hugs, but dismissive? I couldn't disagree more! She has been nothing short of lovely to me and my family and I am saddened to read such a negative and outrageously offensive review about a woman who shows nothing but respect, time and happiness toward us.
While I am sorry for your not having a great experience I am definitely not sorry for the fact that there are many other camps out there for you to choose from!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Rectory School
528 Pomfret St, Pomfret, Connecticut, 06258, United States
We thank The Rectory School faculty and staff for the tremendous support and guidance offered to our two children. Each has benefited from the friendship, mentoring and warmth of the community. The balance of challenge and support has produced in our kids a belief that handwork is rewarding and that failure is an opportunity to learn and grow. We will forever be thankful for the nurturing role Rectory School has played in the development and success of our children.

Whitby School
969 Lake Ave, Greenwich, Connecticut, 06831, United States
Our family has been part of the Whitby School community for 9 years. We have a 6th grader, and a daughter who graduated last year and is now a freshman in high school. I could not more highly recommend the school. As an International Baccalaureate (IB) school it attracts families from many different countries, culturally making it wonderfully diverse. The IB curriculum and inquiry-based learning platform makes me wish I had been educated that way myself! I have also embraced the advantages of a school that finishes in 8th grade. It afforded my daughter the opportunity to reflect on her strengths and the things that she valued most in her education. The experience she gained in the application process, standardized testing, and interviews will make the college application process so much easier! She was also able to pick the high school that was the best fit for her. The transition has been seamless, as she found the perfect school and was more than adequately prepared educationally and socially. Thank-you Whitby, and your exceptionally caring faculty and staff! :

The Director is old fashion and teaches the kids manners. She has been around since 1964 and I love the school. The music teacher gives my daughter private lessons because she wanted more music time. The school is really tailored to the kids.
