My wife works here and loves it, my son attends school here and loves it.

Alexander Academy is a wonderful place for local as well as international students to study. The smaller class sizes allow for excellent attention to each student. There are many field trips and opportunities to connect with the community. The school also offers great support to students who are learning English. It is located in a beautiful building in a central location right in the heart of Vancouver.

I often miss Bodwell, the teachers, the students, and the general community feeling that I have never found in another place. It is not just a great school that will help you develop your academic skills, it is a school where the teachers form a great rapport with students, and where students get along as if they shared a childhood memories. Bodwell aids students to become independent and creative thinkers, and helps construct friendships that remain for life. I can almost guarantee that you will feel a strong community bond since the first day you arrive, and there will be many moments later in your life when you will feel nostalgic over your Bodwell experience. If you want to experience culture diversity, in an accepting and secure manner, Bodwell is the place to study. The school's approach to diversity makes everyone feel integrated so no student feels out of place. Although most of the friendships I made during my stay at Bodwell are scattered across the world, they are the ones I feel most connected to. I would fly across oceans for a reunion with all them.

Missing piece ...

Our child attended Pear Tree for two consecutive years. Unfortunately he was bullied on several occasions and the principals dismissed our concerns. The lack of supervision and leadership is alarming. The teacher turn over rate is extremely high.

The school encourages the students to go and solicit funding for their charities in my neighbourhood. But in my experience as we are in the neighbourhood, wish this to stop. The children can be aggressive and unfortunately had vandalised my property. However, when I called the school to report this issue: the staff where dismissive and non-apologetic. I did try other days to contact the school but was met with denial that these children where soliciting funds at all. I will never support this school for charities and never send any child to this school at all. There are many other Christian schools that encourage respect for all communities they are in and value the community. This school does not.

My daughter graduated this year. Turning out to be a very responsible child. Good staff and Principal. Only problem is lack of infrastructure. They are doing their best with availabile resources.
