Private Schools

Both of my children attended Seton from PreK through 6th grade, and we were very happy with the education they received. Since we lived in the City of Rochester, Seton Catholic School was a very good alternative to the "Managed Choice" options we had with city schools. The teachers are loving and knowledgeable, and were wonderful at accommodating my children's learning needs. The tree-lined campus, fenced in playground, and quiet neighborhood setting in Brighton provided lots of opportunity to stretch their legs as well as their minds!

Our children attended MSR for more than three years. The staff is extremely dedicated to Montessori approach and have truly helped instill a love of learning that continues to this day. Couldn't have asked for a better environment for them through the years.

Hillside is a great place with the right heart

The Norman Howard School creates a clear path for success for children with learning differences. My son struggled so much and our school district wrote him off as unable to progress and then we found the Norman Howard School and it was nothing short of a miracle. Here at the NHS students find the individual help they need to progress successfully at their own pace. They also are encouraged to join the many clubs and extra curricular actives that are offered. The NHS also has a parent association and many family friendly activities throughout the year to engage the whole family. My personal testimony of the Norman Howard School is that it changed my son's life and put him on a path to success. My son with the help and support of the staff at the NHS was even able to earn his Eagle Scout. The staff helped him with merit badges and helped him fill out the merit badge books and every staff member went above and beyond to help my son succeed. I wish that there was more than one Norman Howard School so every child with a learning difference could be put on that path to success.

The lunch Ladies over price everything and the middle School reeks of cleaner but overall it's a great education.

St. Rita's is a wonderful school which I highly recommend to any family looking for a well-rounded education. Academics is highly valued and religious themes are woven throughout the classes and extracurricular activities each and every day, which makes God a consistent presence and force in my child's life. The anti-bullying program and policies teach every student how to be respectful to others and the importance of being a role-model. I can not put a 'value' on the positive environment that this encourages throughout the school - as my son (and the other children) learn the importance of valuing Jesus, Others, and Yourself (JOY). My son is in a safe, fun, encouraging, and loving environment everyday - a parent could not wish for more for their children.

I went to the middle school here and I had a great time. I grew so much as an academic and a Christian in the 3 short years I attended here. All of the teachers are very friendly and intelligent, and they make an effort to make a relationship with the student. Great job RCS!

GCCS is a quality school, with caring faculty, small class size, and high academic goals. We have appreciated the warmth with which the faculty and staff have embraced our children, providing them a nurturing environment in which to grow. The half-day Kindergarten program is unique in the Livingston County area, and was a great transition to the school environment for our five-year old. Specials such as Art, Music, and Chapel are also nice opportunities for enrichment beyond standard core subjects.
