This just like Max old house is in the Antioch Oakley Brentwood area one of my favorite restaurants Grace has been there forever is a wonderful sweet lady and you can't beat their Szechuan pork. plus it's family-owned it's not a chain restaurant that has plastic food

Meh. The Mexican food in this town is so disappointing. We keep trying to find a "go to" place but this ain't it. Average food at best. The margarita was syrupy. The tacos were bland and the "Grande burrito" was a rice & bean burrito with very little meat. The worst part, or maybe the most telling was the salsa was bland. Asked for something spicier and was given hot sauce. We then asked if they had a green salsa, but they didn't. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't have Chile Verde??? Doubt we'll be back.

Great cozy atmosphere, food tastes homecooked... Service has been on point every time Ive eaten there, even during the summer weekends when it can be quite busy. You get a very "locals joint" feeling from the customer/server exchanges. Smiling faces every which way you look.. Now this wouldnt be much of a review if I failed to mention the baked goods.... Sweet pickle queen of Aberdeen! I dont recall a single time that i wasnt blown away...by whatever it was i got.. I take my food very seriously, thats saying something... The last time I was in I took the 2 boys out for breakfast and as we take our seat one looks across the room and spots his Grandpa.... So I guess timeless and classic are 2 adjectives I could use here.... Go have a bite and a nice stroll through downtown old Brentwood, youll be glad you did.

First time here and have to say the food is really good! Tried the ribs, chicken, coleslaw and cornbread. Ribs were moist and came off the bone with little to no effort. Chicken was sticky and delicious. Cornbread decently moist. Coleslaw was good, but too chunky for my tastes. I just pulled out the chunks and enjoyed it as the sauce was great. Only negetive that I had was the drinks. Its basically a bar/club (which I wasn't expecting). There's no free refills on sodas and they don't have mixed drinks; beer and wine only. I spent about $20 for my meal, including tip. Everything is sold a la cart for diner time. Lunch seems to have cheaper meal options.

The chefs at Shutters had a meatloaf daily special when I visited, along with spinach and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was one of the best that I've had in the bay area, and the ambience of the restaurant is unexpectedly exceptional. Relaxed and refined with candlelight, amazing food, and pretty decent wait staff. This little spot in a strip mall is a diamond in the rough, and should absolutely not be missed!
