This is a combination fish market and restaurant. We perused the fresh fish market while we were waiting for our table and it was impressive. Then, we ordered fish and it was delicious ($$$$) and we'll worth it. They have a lovely patio with heaters if the ocean air is on the cool side. The waitress was informative and friendly.

Please do not let the negative reviews sway you away from this gem. Nor let the appearance of the physical building nor the staff the greet you ( shy people could feel imitated ) deter you from eating here!! There are many Italian Restaurants in the Carlsbad Village. If you are looking for upscale and industrial then pick these places if that appeals to you. If you feel put off or imitated by the staff that ask you "how are you" or "try our award winning garlic bread" or "hungry?" or "had dinner yet" as they speak to you as you pass by... PLEASE do not feel put off or offended!!! My family and I went to Caldo Pomodoro on Mothers Day and were pleasantly surprised!! We were more than satisfied with the food and service we received!!! This rates more than 5 stars as the food was beyond what we have experienced previously. We had the Felit Meion, Cajun Shrimp and the Salmon. Service and food was beyond all of our expectations!! Staff catered the best to my family and we were the happiest visiting here!! They were the best of all of the restaurants we visited in this village!! Please take a moment and seriously consider this restaurant. Let the attitude or the pushyness you read NOT deter you. This is how they advertise. Let it go and experience truly amazing Italian Cusine in the Carlsbad Village. Everything is made fresh and daily. Our food, desert and coffee were what we expected from an upscale Italian restaurant. Best Italian Restruant in the Carlsbad Village by far. If you’re looking for a quiet Italian restaurant, don’t go to Pizza Port. On the other hand, if you want a family friendly pizza place with reasonably priced and delicious pizza, Port is your place. In addition to the pizza, we also tried the kale salad with pomegranate seeds which was to die for. Will definitely be back for more of everything.

Everything here is great! Soup to ceveche. Tequilas galore.

Probably the worst attempt at a seafood "risotto" i have had the misfortune of trying to digest and the cost..... should be ashamed to call that soup with rubberized calamari anything but inedible. I have a trained monkey that doesn't see so well and unfortunately, one arm that could have served up a better dish. And why the hell does this stupid rate and review only allow postings if you have at least one star?? That would suggest that there was something good about this experience..... THERE WASN'T

This place is a hidden gem! For some reason Google lists this as a $$. It should definitely be a $. Check out their the special in the picture. That wasn't the only menu options that were $8 or less. Large helpings, great customer service, and food comes fast! Great old fashion cafe.

It's no frills but does great drinks, friendly staff and locals as well as an awesome atmosphere late into the night.

Great locally sourced foods that are creatively simple. Took my family there for lunch and we enjoyed every dish we ordered, especially the Campfire Bowl. The best part is that they have a kids menu that is not something bland like Mac and cheese, but a simplified version of their main menu with grilled meats and veggies. Great place to chill with friends or family. My toddler loved the tippee outside

Best fish and chips deal with a soda on Friday. So tasty and brought to the table immediately from the fryer! Couldn't be better.

One of the best pizza shops in all of North County. Thin, floppy slices that have great pepperoni and sausage. If you like thin chewy slices, this is the place for you!

Cool place for sushi on the weekends, live band playing downstairs, outside and inside seating, bathrooms are clean.

Fresh and delicious. Cash only. Sushi fans will not be disappointed.

Best fish & chip spot in all of North County! The food is always great, and the service is wonderful. You can't beat the unbelievable view. My favorite plate to order is the fish and chips with their house beer which goes great with the food!

Always fast and friendly service with reliably good food. Great location right on 101 for people watching and running into friends.
