Yes. We were in town for a weekend and heard this place was a good time. They weren’t wrong. Turn the corner from city street to cozy getaway. They have unique beers and cocktails surrounded by the old brick buildings covered in vines and warm outdoor and indoor lighting. The music pours in and sets the perfect setting for a fun afternoon, quick break, happy hour or fun night out. Kind people with kind drinks.

Large place, huge selection of wine, whiskey and bourbon not to bad. Would like to see more aged whiskies C.C. 44year,R.C 29 and so on.

Felt very unsafe here. Got what I needed and split. Never should have stopped in to begin with. After all, there are liquor stores on my side of town that don’t require a bullet proof vest to patronize.

What a great place. Their spirits are amazing. I can’t wait until their Rye Whiskey finishes aging. Their Dayton Vodka was smooth as silk from start to finish. Their Dayton Gin was amazing too - and I don’t really like gin! But whoa their Hells Vodka was spicy! 🌶 🥵 Quite different but amazing. I had their scorpion cocktail to start the tour - it was delicious! Take their tour learn about them, their story, and a little of the history of distilling spirits. Afterward stick around for a few tasty beverages with their fine offerings.

We came here for my birthday and they were absolutely amazing! Super accommodating and the drinks, AH! FANTASTIC!! Would definitely recommend checking them out! They make so much of their mixings in house and you can tell the difference - in the best day possible. Cara and Katie seriously took the best care of be and helped make my birthday one for the books!

Great and helpful people with a huge selection

Castle & Key was a highly recommended place from family and friends and it did not disappoint! The grounds are stunning and have so much history to them. The distillery makes bourbon, rye, vodka and gin so the tasting included a couple of cocktails (which was a nice change of pace from the rest of the bourbon trail). A must stop, in my opinion.

Yeah they Fasho lit. They got them thangs for the cheap. I come round there & grab 2 5ths & leave out ready to get busted. &&& these folk’s always greet me & dismiss me respectfully.

Perfectly curated selection of most favorites, and excellent suggestions for some discoveries! Shannon and Morgan are super-knowledgeable, an absolute delight to talk to, and service from the whole staff is always top shelf.

Happy Hour is one of those "Hidden Gems" you hear people speak of from time to time. At least it is for us. The bartenders take the time to make you a truly craft drink and the selection of bottles behind the bar is unbeatable. We love to start our date nights by going here for a drink. Most of the time we sit at the bar but sometimes we enjoy the nice leather chairs. We usually enjoy a nice cocktail then peruse the store for whatever bottle cstches our eye. The service is always great from the bar and store.

One of the best hidden gems in town. Excellent selection and extremely helpful staff. Family run, and you can tell they really care.

Best Liquor Store and Service!!! The team at State were absolutely amazing! We are visiting Louisville on a family trip and they went above and beyond to ensure we found local small batch bourbon to match our preferences. Additionally, we were sharing our disappointment about not being able to locate an open distillery tour during our stay. Rebecca reached out to her contacts and took down our contact info and after less than an hour found one vacancy for our party of 6 on the prohibition tour. They take time to get to know customers and have amazing customer service. I will certainly be back to visit again on our next trip down. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Rude and overpriced. Why give your business to someone who doesn't appreciate it. Theres plenty other stores who have the same selection if not better and offer friendly service.
