My Mother was in Eventide for over 3yrs, the staff took very good care of her. I would go in at different times to see how she was (even after midnight) and I was happy to find her clean. There were times when she had been in her brona(?) wheel chair, and wanted to be put to bed, but, it was better for her to be sitting up. The only problems I had was that there was no mounting for her tv and it was on her night table right beside her head, where her room mate who had a window few had the corner to put hers in. {my mother was in a semi-private room) and there was not a tray beside her bed for her books and drink, so she was dependant on others to help her & at times she said she was parched when I would come in. No signs of bad care. The PSW's treated her with respect and kindness, as did the Nurses & other staff. I would phone every evening and they took the time to talk to me & kept us informed with her health. I did not like that I could not look at her chart, as I could at the previous home she was in. The problems we encountered were her glasses would go missing or her dentures which eventually were never found. That was due I believe because of residents coming into her room. Also this is not Eventides fault, they are only allowed a certain number of diapers, and did you know prisoners get a higher amount of money for their meals, then our loved ones from the Government. Also staff only have so many minutes to spend on the care they give a resident. There is a need for more staff, better meals, and time spent with individuals, but, this will only change when Our Government does....not because of Eventide Home! On many occasions we used different rooms for family functions (birthdays, Mothers Day, holidays) I would let them know what would be needed as far as kettles, dishes cutlery & things were set up nicely or they would show me where they were in the room) . They have a beautiful outdoor area where one can have their own area for a garden & extra activities outside of the normal. I did object however when the tv was taken out of the main recreation room, it seemed far too quiet...no music or anything to keep her mind active. Now this could have changed since 2009. What touched my heart was the kindness and true feelings most of the staff had for my Mother. A few even came when we "celebrated her life". I didn't give the quality an excellent, just because of a few minor things that I have mentioned above...especially no table bed side table. Which is so important when you can no longer able to walk or take care of yourself anymore.

as a home owner in this area i am so sick of the residence smoking their drugs on the grass boulevard across from the millennium trail. this is a mental health facility. drug use should be strictly prohibited. i have called and talked to the admin at the residence and it has not stopped. who regulates this this facility. i will be calling the police going forward.

Kingsmere has great involvement in the community.

Stayed there when it was hotel couple years ago. Was very good!

This place is not safe. These people are not intimately in care. I will expose this place if they mistreat my loved one. If you cannot make this place safe and a caring place for our loved ones. And I have a loved one there and I am very concerned. Human beings should not be mistreated or not intimately cared for....

In helping my parents find a residence close to us , I found everyone I have dealt with it the Royal to be helpful, accommodating and just plain nice. When I have had specific questions I have never had a problem getting answers . In general,it’s been a very good experience.

If I could give this revolting, deplorable craphole less than 1 star, I would. How dare you call yourselves a caring nursing home! The staff are ignorant, disrespectful, abusive, poor excuses for human beings. You are NOT health care professionals AT ALL! They and the crooks who own that filthy infested building should be ashamed of themselves. Just one word left to say to you lazy pukes.....karma.

Though I’m not of retirement age yet, I have family members under the careful, attentive and watchful care of the staff at Shorthills Villa retirement centre and I’m not sure if you can get a better value or a better experience for a loved one. Whether my uncle Lou needed an air conditioning unit, a fresh pillow or a cold glass of ginger-ale (his favourite), they were ready and available to meet and exceed every request with a warm, glowing smile on their face.

On November 16, 2018 we moved my mother into Cavendish Manor retirement residence. Since moving her in the staff have been incredibly amazing and helping her become adjusted and making her feel right at home. Starting with the tour that Fletcher Elliott took me on his warmth and generosity and huge smile made me feel that this was the place that mom needed to be. Fallon and Susan have always been warm caring and helpful with any request that I have made. The nursing staff that I have met to date including Cheryl and Emily and they have taken such good care of mom and getting her medications straightened around checking on her and making sure that she is comfortable And relaxed. I would recommend Cavendish Manor retirement residence to anyone who has to move a loved one out of their own home, I look forward to sharing my mothers new adventure in life with her and the large family at Calvin dish retirement Manor.
