Hotel/Motel

The hotel boasts new linen and an upgraded decor which in essence is true, however the carpets were so bad that we wouldn't take our shoes off to walk on them. Housekeeping was pitiful, the room was serviced, but the old coffee cups were not removed and the coffee machine was not refreshed. The lobby which is advertised to be under renovation looked like the entrance to a hotel that you took by the hour. We had to pay for our room prior to being issued a key and the various cautionary notices that were taped around the area suggested that the hotel catered to a less than honest clientele. The elevator was not working which meant dealing with stairs, although the desk clerk offered assistance without being asked. Our room was directly above the pub, the sound transfer from music and clients gave the impression that you were actually in the room the noise was so bad. My wife and I have been in the hotel business for a major part of our working lives as owners or employees so we know the business and when to criticize. This property needs major help. We would never stay here again and in no way could we recommend it to anybody else. July 1, 2017

Loved this hotel. Pet and kid friendly. Downtown lovely Corner Brook NL. Our windows were filled with the lights of the houses on the hills around the town. Comfortable, clean beds and room.

It was a beautiful place

The Inn was lovely, the room was very nice. The food however was just average.

It's okay. Not sure why people get excited about rundown hotels. Perhaps if you are an architect or historian. But this one didn't hit the historic charm button. It could be rather nice with some work. Room we stayed in was hot. Construction outside started at first light. Doors are, how should I put this... Thin 😉. Oh and forget the restaurant if you are Celiac or Gluten Sensitive.

We stood at Shawn's place twice and liked it very much! He is super kind and helpful. The house and the rooms are clean. You find all kind of shops close by. For breakfast you can find nearly everything you like in the fridge and shelfs and there is always fresh coffee!!! You can feel like home! We definitly recommend his place!

Beautiful quaint old home...comfortable spacious rooms..delicious large breakfast (excellent coffee)...gracious host...and 3 lovely welcoming pets (Adorable George, Handsome Izzy, and Sweet Tai). We all had a wonderful time for the 3 nights we stayed. Oh...and Cordell, thanks again for the toothbrush that I didn’t pack!

Rooms are not very clean. Parking is very limited. Rate was low though.
