Before working with McDougall/Bickerton I had been with my previous broker for years - a half decade or more I think - and I didn't feel like I was getting the best deal anymore. I contacted Jon Borrello and right away I knew I'd found someone I could trust not only to find me a great deal, but to go to bat for me. Jon ended up saving me hundreds, and my coverage is excellent. I'm so happy with the service I have received that I happily refer my friends to him whenever they ask if I "know a guy in insurance". Yeah, I know a guy. And he's awesome!

I was surprised to find out I wasn't covered when our sump pump malfunctioned (bad on me for not reading the fine print, although a review with their office after so many years as a loyal customer and sticking with them through cost hikes and the change of their name/underwriter would have been nice). Anyway I was so ticked I went to a broker instead and now am saving myself over $600 per year and have better coverage (including flood insurance.) 😊 My advice: try somewhere else.

These crooks take payment out of your account unauthorized. They are not mindful of people on a strict budget. You ask them to combine policies and they do not send a bill, and then draft it from your account whenever they feel like it, causing problems with the bank. I was told they would send me a check for the overdraft charge and then they changed their mind. Tammy is rude and talks down to the clients. She does not accept responsibility when she makes an error (in this case it was more than one error). Worst yet, she hung up on me when I told her we are going to take our business elsewhere. I was not in any way verbally abusive. There are plenty of other fine insurance agencies in the area. I would recommend ANYONE else.

Good luck with a claim or refund from this company. When daddy gives the kids a business to run, they rely on the secretary with 40 years tenure to run the place. The Owner doesn't even return your calls.
