I had a great experience at this store, long overdue for the telling: Around 15 yrs ago, my daughter accidentally knocked over an antique crystal and glass floor lamp inherited from my wife’s grandmother. The cut glass shade shattered! My wife was devastated. And we knew it wouldn’t be an easy (or cheap) item to replace. A couple weeks later, I was driving home from Newmarket and saw the Light Shop on the side of the road. There were some interesting items visible in the window, including what looked like some antique/vintage items. I don’t think I’d ever stopped in Aurora before, for anything; but on a whim I went in, to see if they could help me out. Best decision I could’ve made! I was greeted by a friendly owner who patiently listened to my sad tale. And wouldn’t you know it? He actually had TWO replacement (reproduction) shades in his storeroom, from which to choose. And he assured me that if my wife didn’t like what I brought home, I could return it, “no problem.” There was no price tag on the shade (since it hadn’t been on display). In the circumstances, the store owner could have practically named his price. So I had my 2nd happy surprise of the day when he quoted me a VERY reasonable price for the shade. I was definitely the Hero of the Day, when my wife came home and saw the new shade on her grandma’s lamp! P.S. - 15 yrs later, it still looks fantastic.

Fast service and kind people

Probably the best Home Hardware around. Staff is excellent, loads of items I need for my job.

Can usually always find something for a good price here. Their one downfall is they don't tend to turn over the products/trends that often. Visited 2 times in 2 months but had the exact same products available on the shelves.

Wonderful people and customer service here. We purchased three pendants and they weren't in stock so they had to be shipped from the manufacturer. When we received them one was broken so we called and living lighting was right on the case. The next day they said they were going to have it replaced. When we got it, it was different (of no fault of living lighting), and again got on the horn to have it rectified. We finally have all matching and working pendants, and thank living lighting for doing everything in their power to make it right.

The staff at Bergsma's know their products and have provided great insight into the best way to paint & decorate various types of surfaces. Their ability to match colours to samples we provided from other sources was amazing!! Their input and knowledge of product is well worth the value of the products they sell.

Great customer service with the owner, explained what type of LED's to use and how many to get. Offered additional items that i would also need. I will be coming back here for my next project.
