Great place! Instructors have a great attitude towards learning

Please be aware of the many costs associated with signing your child up the the Bertlings ATA. They will have you sign a long contract without telling you all the fees, including $65 every other month for belt promotions (a belt costs a few dollars!) in addition to your monthly fee and the hundreds of dollars worth of equipment that you will feel pressured to buy. Then, when you have to break the contract because you are moving to another city, you will be forced to pay $150 in cancellation fees even though that is not in the contract. They talk about honesty and integrity, but do not show it when they fail tell you all the costs involved yet still have you sign the contract. Really, what sport makes you sign a contract? Please research other karate studios and don't sign a contract!

I have been attending classes for just over a month and highly recommend people to come and try out the training. Bjj is a must have skillset in my opinion and I really appreciate the friendly vibe and instructive style. Great bonding opportunity between a father and kids.

Helpful for my son

Daniel teaches a style of karate but more in the sense of The Bushido code. He inspires young people to think with their mind and live life through honor, courage and respect. As a retired Nidan from Shito-Ryu, this man has the right tools and the heart of instructor. Hai Sensei!

Great instructors and friendly environment.

I have been practicing Brazilian JiuJitsu with my 7 year old son and 9 year old daughter for three years, and bar none, Longview has one of the best instructors in the world here at AMBJJ. The life lessons like anti-bullying, fight avoidance, and self confidence that kids learn here is invaluable. Couple that with the physical agility, strength, and knowledge of a martial art makes this place the best activity for kids in Longview.

Very good teammates and fighters

I been training here going on a year and love every minute of it. I train in wing chun, tai chi, and little shuai chiao. Class is small so you get a lot of one on one interaction. Sifu Paul Wayne Gerald is very knowledgeable in what he does. If your wanting to learn self defense or just wanting to do it to get in shape, this is one of the best places to go. He offers morning classes and evening classes and with my hectic schedule it works great for me.
