Martial Arts

While visiting the Harlingen for work, I reached out to Jacob (Head Instructor) at HARLINGEN Jiu Jitsu in regards to folks dropping in for a few classes while here. Jacob couldn’t have been more kind and welcoming and provided the details for his adult classes. Over the next few days, I felt as welcome by the members here as I do in my own gym back home in San Antonio and will definitely be returning. This is a very well run gym and encourage any folks visiting or living here including their kids to give it a try. Looking forward to my next trip to the RGV.

Well instructed and easy to catch up. Also amazing how kids learn both martial art and discipline.

Great, traditional martial arts school. The instructors all really care for the students, and treat them like family rather than a paycheck. If you're looking for a place to get quick belts, or run the tournament circuit and line your mantle with trophies, then this probably isn't the place for you. However, if you have an interest in real, honest to goodness, traditional karate (straight from its birthplace in Okinawa), then this is what you're looking for.

My kids love their class! They’re always anxious for the next class!! Highly recommended!

We love being apart of the dragonfly family ! Ransom loves sensei kris and hank they are very good instructors and the kids love them and respect them if your child is wanting to learn karate I promise you these are the gentlemen you want teaching your child !

We found Traditional Taekwondo of Helotes several years ago when we were desperately in need of a summer program. We picked it because I spoke with the owner and felt comfortable with him. My children had no experience with martial arts - we were just looking for daycare because the summer program we put the kids in the year before went out of business. Now, years later, we are grateful that this is where we ended up. Master Marr is so much more than just a taekwondo instructor. He is a mentor and a role model. I've listened to him talk to his class about character, hard work, discipline, and so many other things that children need to hear. He truly cares about the kids (and adults) he teaches. My son (7th grade now) doesn't like team sports so this gives him a sense of belonging and also helps him stay physically fit. I highly recommend his dojang whether you're in the market for a summer day camp or evening taekwondo classes.

I am very impressed with the Instructors of KOA Kenpo Karate school. They exactly know how to create excellent environment for kids and really care about their students. Great place for kids to grow and learn self discipline, self defense and respect for others.

This is a modern establishment like none that exist today. I joined this tae kwon do academy when I was 7 years old and have stuck with it ever since. The instructors are amazing people all around, especially master Daniel Marr. With a degree in psychology and a 6th degree black belt in tae kwon do, there is no better person to learn from; as a young man or a young tae kwon do student, I wouldn't want to be a student anywhere but here.

Well structured classes, excellent workout!!!

Best martial arts school for advanced learning and training. Challenging for all ages.
