I initially started as a kickboxing student and eventually moved into the karate program and achieved my black belt, something I would have never though I could do. The only reason I even got there is due to the caring staff and positive environment at Bernardo Karate. I've never been in a place where people are so caring and encouraging. I recommend the programs to everyone I know!

Been a couple times for women only bootcamp - and I love it. The instructor are positive and motivational, they work you to the max and the other women are nice too. :)

When I first joined Kime Karate. I was worried I would be too far behind the other students, and that I would be unable to keep up. This was coming from a 14 year old! Soon after I joined however, I felt welcome and I still enjoy the friendly atmosphere that Sensei Keyes creates. I really feel that when students are treated as more than students, then the real learning happens! The community of Kime Karate is a really special gift to all who attend the studio. August 12th was my final night of training with Dan Levac and the rest of the sensational team at Patenaude Martial Arts Belleville. In fact, the only reason I left, was because I had to go back to school in Toronto. If it wasn't for that, leaving wouldn't have even crossed my mind. I'd like to thank them with all I have for introducing me to MMA training and making my summer incredible. If you like to work hard and play hard, this is the place to go. If you want to get in shape, learn to defend yourself or become a better person, this place is for you. The team is incredibly kind and skilled, with a variety of age groups and combat backgrounds. I learned a tremendous amount this summer with a great group and I got in great shape doing so. My journey with MMA has just commenced. I hope to return a better martial artist and who knows? Maybe one day I'll grace an octagon. Thank you Patenaude Martial Arts. Fang Shen Do is the way to go

Great place to practice bjj! Everyone is welcoming, the instructor is knowledgeable and attentive, and there are many class times. While the focus is on BJJ (gi/no-gi), the instructor has had experience with various martial arts and is willing to help you learn them (and incorporate various techniques into your game). Another thing to note - this gym is under "Jiu-Jistu for Life", making it convenient to train with any gyms in the association (e.g. Toronto BJJ) if you're coming from a different city for school. The only downside is that if you are a student, it isn't particularly easy to get to (it's right next to a bus stop but just a distance away). Despite this, I find the environment, general attitude of the other practitioners, and the instructor worth the trek.
