REVIEW FOR HOPEFUL APPLICANTS ONLY: So. I began the application process for this position in early March. I was quickly contacted for a first phone interview and told that the expected hire date was March 12th. The recruiter asked if my current job would be okay with a shorter-than two-week notice, I said yes. I FINALLY had an in-person interview on March 22nd and as of today, March 26th, I still do not have a decision from the company, despite being guaranteed (by three different interviewers) I would have it by the end of the day on the 23rd at the latest. No problem. Please save yourselves the phone call and simply read the following. This may be a fantastic opportunity for those willing to do what is required. I simply want to prepare any hopeful applicants for the sneaky sales pitch of an interview process that they are about to endure. -Original interview - I was told the average income for my position was $60k yr 1 and $100k yr 2. -Final interview - 1st yr income is between $40k and $60k and 2nd yr is $60k to $80k. Not average. Between. Way different numbers. -Original interview - Told I would be working 1-2 Saturdays a month. 2nd interview - It went to 2-3 Saturdays a month. -Final interview - Turns out it's actually 3-4 Saturdays a month. -Original interview - Hourly base pay of $15 scheduled at 50-55 hours per week, 1.5x for anything over 40, plus commission. -Final interview - Salaried $23k at 55-65+ hours per week (read: overtime isn't paid by the company), plus commission. Again, very different numbers. There are other examples, but I think those listed are the most significant. Best case scenario: Their recruiters have some very poor information about the position that nobody seems bothered to correct. More likely scenario: They use a carefully crafted bait-and-switch sales technique during hiring designed to get prospective hires excited about and dedicated to the job opportunity, while slowy revealing a much different truth about the position. I would also like to say that during the final interview, after being interviewed by 2 supervisors for 45 minutes and then shadowing another employee for an additional 20 minutes, I was told I would (quite unexpectedly) be interviewed by a 3rd person. 3rd interviewer begins his interview by telling me that he is who the other supervisors come to when they're "on the fence" about a prospective hire. Again, best case scenario: A super interpersonally ignorant way to start an interview. More likely scenario: A very deliberate attempt to make me feel the need to prove myself and defend my ability to perform a job that is really not sounding like all that great of an opportunity anymore. I answer 3rd interviewer's questions and then ask what concerns he has about my ability to perform the job that I could address for him. He refuses to answer, stating it would be innapropraite to discuss them during the interview. This is when I knew for SURE I was not going to work for One Reverse. An interview is LITERALLY intended for all parties to learn more about each other, the position, and to address any concerns that may be present. SO...with all that said, I resectufully withdraw my application from One Reverse Mortgage. I appreciate the time given and any consideration there may (or may not) have been, but please do not feel any undo need to contact me regarding the position. Hopeful employees, go into it with your eyes wiiiide open.
