I've been supporting this northern business for a long time now, I switched over from another business in town. I find the service here incredibly friendly, they care about their customer base that spans throughout Northwest Territories and Nunavut. They offer exceptional warranty on most everything they sell, if you are not completely satisfied they will fix or replace it. Not open on weekends anymore. Don't forget to ask for the 20% Co-Op discount!

All 4 staff members I saw today were above and beyond. The front desk lady found me while I perused frames. Kenda was incredibly helpful with me trying on frames. Dr Giles’ knowledge and explanation is so informative. I have students and colleagues that go to Aurora and remark on how good their Dr is. Well done.

Every staff member was super friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the optometrist. I ordered contacts from here and they arrived in less than a week. I did feel somewhat pressured to buy and it felt like the optometrist was a salesperson at times, however, this would not diseude me from returning - it's just business.

About 8 months ago I discussed my declining eye sight with Dr. Daniël Senekal, world-renowned Refractive Surgeon currently residing in Edmonton, Canada. I was wearing multifocal glasses which increasingly started having a negative impact on my daily life.
I am a 52 year young 'hip' married male and have a very active lifestyle as far as work is concerned. I pastor a church and do a great deal of public speaking; founded three non profits in South Africa (the largest being facilities for long term psychiatric patients in South Africa) and two in the USA totaling more than 120 staff. Over and above, I have my own conference venue to supplement my income and fairly involved in real estate.
I need to have constant access to my mobile phone to read and respond to emails and social media.
Over the last years, wearing glasses became a huge daily issue in my life to the point where I developed a low self esteem. As senseless as it may sound, wearing glasses made me feel old and unattractive. Cleaning glasses multiple times during the day, and constantly pushing my glasses up reminded me of how as a kid, old people would do so.
I had another major challenge: I live with an Anxiety disorder and having to allow a ophthalmologist to operate on my eyes seemed like a daunting challenge. Negative internet reviews wasn't helpful either. In hindsight (as a non medical person) the majority of negative reviews were completely unfounded, premature and maybe simply an uninformed opinion.
Fast forward 4 months after my initial discussion with Dr. Daniël Senekal, he agreed to perform the Presbyond procedure on both my eyes. A Counsellor at his eye centre took me through the entire procedure just before surgery. Dr. Senekal was extremely professional, talking me through each step as he performed the procedure. His constant assurance and positive affirmation throughout the surgery had an extremely calming effect on me and I had no feeling of anxiety.
Immediately after the procedure, I could see clearly. However, at dusk my non-dominant eye was a little blurry, but it did not come as a surprise, as the initial cross-blur was explained to me before surgery. Entering a shopping mall with a lot of fluorescent lights had the same blurring effect.
Over the last 3 months I experienced an almost daily improvement in terms of my vision in dim light. What was comforting in days, weeks and months ahead, was the explanation of neuro-adaptation that was explained to me by Dr. Senekal. It surely helped me not to become anxious postoperative. Understanding the natural healing processes made me more aware of daily, weekly and monthly improvements, and I know that 6-12 months is not uncommon to allow neuro- adaptation to take full effect.
On occasion, when I drive long distances at night, I might feel more confident driving with glasses, but the glare is gone. I can read the shampoo labels in the shower, small font on my cellphone, menus at restaurants and my daytime vision is 100%.
Three months post procedure, and I cannot verbalize how my eye sight, my life and my outlook on life has changed for the better. I look and feel younger and receive compliments wherever I go. I call this a modern day miracle. - Roy Harris
