Deeply committed, innovative teachers guided by a clear, forward-looking director of curriculum. Teachers and students are supported by an outstanding student-learning department that meets kids where they are and provides the tools for their success. Instructor compensation has recently caught up with peer schools, and instructors benefit from a solid teacher development program. Great facilities and no debt. Still a pretty WWTD community (white and well-to-do), but it's evolving. Diversity commitment is authentic, supported by financial aid, and the curriculum, teachers and staff truly honor all cultures, traditions, and families. Much more to say, given time and space, but bottom line is, we'd definitely do it all over again if given the choice.

If you really care about your child don't even think about this school, they are obsessed by controlling kids and making them obey their order no matter how, even if that means destroying their personality! My kid was 18 month when he joined, he was way happier in his old daycare. Since he joined this (so called) school, he became so sad, angry frustrated and much more! I saw some of the teachers by my eyes physically force him to do what they want him to do. They don't treat kids like human beings. And they won't even tell you if there's a problem. The manager Sue is completely rude and careless with the parents. My kid was going to this school for 3 month, and then suddenly last April Sue said we can't have your kid in our school anymore! our teacher is not able to deal with him! and his last day will be May 31. Why didn't the teacher say something before if she's really having hard time dealing with our kid? Why would she say every day that he's very smart and going to be great leader? Why suddenly tell us, go take your kid somewhere else! that's not professional at all! Also when we told them we can't find another school that soon and if they can keep him until we find a good one, they said no! that's his last day! seriously !! that's was very shocking since the teacher never mentioned that she's having hard time with him. Also before that, Sue used to send kids school if they are understaffed and saying that the kids have cold. I went to the doctor and got a paper saying that my kid is fine and healthy and can go to school, however Sue keeps sending the kids back and saying"we are private school and we have the right to send kids home whenever we want!"

Fairview Christian School

Fairview Christian School is not just a school - it is a family. Our kids started school in preschool and pre-k and when it came time to choose a kindergarten, we knew this was the place for us. The teachers are wonderful and are able to teach to kids at all different levels with different learning styles because of the small class sizes. Fairview has lots of special programs - Spanish, PE twice a week, Performing Arts twice a week, opportunities to participate in melodrama and other theatrical productions, speech, science and so much more! The families are actively involved in the life of the school and available to each other as we all walk through the joys and struggles of life. They are located at 78th and Roosevelt - right off I-5. It really is an ideal location.

So far so good! The school just opened this month, but so far I like the way they are running it. They are putting emphasis on having the middle schoolers becoming responsible students, and seem to be embracing a philosophy of "education happens outside the classroom too". And they also seem to be on board with the idea that for the future what the world needs is not homework robots, but creative thinkers. I'll try to update this review after this first year is done.

Fantastic experience in the pre-toddler classroom, my son was around 15-16 months old. The teacher Miss Katie was amazing and truly a gifted childcare provider. The classroom was very sunny, warm, inviting and kid friendly. A variety of colors, textures and play areas made it almost montessori/preschool like. We had to transition out of daycare due to job changes. On our last day we were given a handmade "We will miss you" scrapbook with classroom pictures and a personalized note from the teacher about our son's antics and personality traits. I can't say enough good things about my experience! Very grateful for the peace of mind I had when returning to work.

The owner and teachers have a repulsive attitude when you ask questions about their program. I understand they have limited seats so they would have to turn down some applicants but they don't make it clear at all during the application process of what they are looking for. When you tour the school, they judge you and your pre-schooler. The owner is very rude and blunt to tell you that your child lack skills required for his 'highly advanced' program and that it is 'not for everyone'.

Explorations Academy

Explorations Academy

1701 Ellis St #215, Bellingham, Washington, 98225, United States
I watched my daughter, a very bright and creative introvert, enter Explorations Academy as a student who preferred to observe and not offer her perspective or insights. She was a student who held back in giving her all to her assigned work. She avoided attending school whenever possible and preferred to do the bare minimum. I have seen her transform into being an "A" student, pushing her boundaries, giving her best, and challenging herself. She is inspired to do her work, develop greater independence, accountability, confidence and courage. One of her most jaw-dropping developments was when she discovered her ability to write with profound depth and flow. Her insights moved me deeply. This creative ability was identified and nurtured by her adviser Kiira, who coordinates the fantastic mentoring program in the school. Explorations Academy has a commitment to acknowledging the students as individuals within the community. The teachers and staff are an incredible community of people dedicated to an education that prepares students to be the best they can be: confident, connected, capable, present, and well educated individuals. In offering this life education to my daughter, I feel like a parent who has given one of the greatest gifts ever. Thank you Explorations Academy!!!

Assumption Catholic School

Assumption Catholic School

Our son came to Assumption Catholic School in third grade half way through the year. The staff was very welcoming and our son enjoyed the new challenges and robust curriculum. We noticed right away that the students were all excellent presenters and speakers. From kindergarten on each class is responsible for readings in the church and we were amazed at their confidence and poise at the microphone. Most of all we appreciate that there is a strong moral code upheld and the teachers are in tune with the spirit of the child as well as their intellectual growth. Now that our son is in middle school we see him developing into a young man of great character and self control. He is also a part of Assumption Boy Scouts which also has excellent mentors and leadership training. We are confident Assumption has the tools to build young people equipped to positively impact our community. Thank you Assumption! Family of a grateful 6tj grader.
