I did an observation for a St. Mary's Montessori program class today and was pleasantly surprised at the excellence of this particular program. The atmosphere is peaceful, the students engaged, and the students responsible and aware of their responsibilities with very few exceptions. I saw no behavior problems that were not quickly turned around my being refocused on the school rules. The curriculum was completely Montessori and the owner/head teacher extremely knowledgeable and capable. It is a wonderful, multi-cultural environment and is absolutely spotless. WAY above average.

My son is a sophomore at Drew and has been "on fire" since day one! He comments daily on the amazing community, the engaging interactions he has with his teachers, the kindness of the other students and the relaxed environment that makes his challenging academics actually fun!

Not a bad way to spend nine of your most important formational years. I learned not to steal and got into a good high school.
The Bay School of San Francisco

The golden gate backdrop is hard to beat. Friendly students. Staff is remarkable. School is newer and nimble, but has an impressive track record in turning out kids who give back, are intellectually able and engaged learners.

I can’t imagine a better school. Our kids enjoyed and still enjoy an excellent education based on the schools’ comprehensive curriculum and outstanding teachers. Our son graduated after attending GISSV’s Middle and High School at the MV campus and immediately started in one of the top 5 Universities in Germany (Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings data 2018). His language skills he acquired at GISSV have already encouraged him to be a world citizen. Our daughter started at this San Francisco Campus in Kindergarten and is now enrolled as elementary school student. We are impressed by the schools’ nurturing of her interests and curiosity and fostering growth in her understanding of the world.
We see her apply the head, heart and hands model for transformational learning every day. [The model shows the holistic nature of transformative experience and relates the cognitive domain (head) to critical reflection, the affective domain (heart) to relational knowing and the psychomotor domain (hands) to engagement]. She enjoys applying mathematical concepts in daily routines and creative projects. She continuously takes her time to observe and assess various projects and scientific phenomena from different angles –and hands on. She independently and proudly makes connections and applies her learning experiences in school to out-of-school activities, eager to explore more and follow-up on new discoveries and accomplishments. She brings home books from the school library and requests us to hear her read before and after dinner and breakfast. While on the road or on the bike, she happily sings songs in several languages addressing natural, cultural or social concepts. We feel very blessed having found this school for our kids.
As parents, we are thankful for the way the elementary and middle school community at the San Francisco campus appreciates the growth of all students. We were touched to hear teachers read out excerpts of beautifully written stories by the students. Sharing in this way with the whole community sitting in a circle on the Presidio school lawn what the precise accomplishment of a student was –made the students feel truly recognized and distinguished, (something even more than a grade or prize could accomplish). Seeing the student’s lovely performances, and just spotting the joyful faces or laughter among students during a school day is what makes us appreciate this school. Every child deserves such experiences during their forming education years!

Cornerstone Academy - Silver
801 Silver Ave, San Francisco, California, 94134, United States
This place honestly was sloppy, messy, and just really did not appeal to me. Some teachers were okay, others, not so much. They did not explain certain things clearly and would expect you to know everything. Some teachers would humiliate you in front of the class if you did not know the answer right away. Furthermore, the students were forced to sit on dirty, dusty floors with their uniforms that were uncomfortable and hot. The student were not taught how to behave properly and were pretty rough when it came to "hanging around". Overall, I would not recommend this school to anyone who isn't willing to let there kid be bullied and harassed. The price for this school is ridiculous and the lunch tasted like plastic and garbage. This is not a private school you want to go to.
Cornerstone Academy - Cambridge
501 Cambridge St, San Francisco, California, 94134, United States
Was too damn expensive, teachers stole food from the potluck, everything to hard, school opens way too early, but they make great food, people are corrupted and people are bullied and discriminated because of their bad habits that everyone does anyways, teachers discriminate by favoritism, the education was not that good because it was way too hard for certain people
Marin Primary & Middle School

Extremely positive experience. Small class sizes, outstanding teachers and staff, warm community are a few of the positives. What says it all is after 9 years, my kids still love going tio school and are excited about learning. The school's mission statement is refreshing and I greatly value the focus on community service and social emotional learning.
