I have been going here for close to 3 years and have always had a great experience. Matt is the first stylist that I trust with my hair. He takes the time to make sure it is perfect.

I have dark hair and have never been happy with how any color or highlights have turned out here. I have gone to this place on and off since I was about 17 years old, and am now 32. I had one girl that I loved, Sally, but when she left about 8 years ago, I was high and dry. Any time I have gone back since then, I haven't been happy with the cuts and I've totally given up on asking for any color. I got a gift card recently for my birthday, so I was a little bit bummed that it was to identity, and so I haven't hopped on making an appointment for anything yet. I'm trying to figure out if there's a service I can get there that I won't feel disappointed by. So I called the kenwood location today while driving my 6 month old home from getting shots to ask about their pedicures and manicures. Immediately, before even letting me finish my question, the receptionist cut me off to tell me to go online and look at what's available. And then she cut me off a couple more times, before I could even finish my question again, and repeated herself about going to look at the 35-40 options online or something like that. I finally had to cut her off and ask her if she minded if I finished my question first. Finally I was able to ask my question that I knew there wouldn't be an answer for online. All I wanted to know was how they removed dead skin during pedicures. Even if my question could be answered online, I'm a mother of two. As I said I was driving back home from my 6 month old's doc appointment where he got shots. I don't have time to get online and search through 40 options just to see if they use the cheese grater or not. This really bugged me that she was so resistant to taking a minute to answer the question. In this day and age people know they can go online to search for things, but sometimes, busy moms need answers quick and using the telephone is the most convenient way. I was so turned off that I didn't even bother scheduling anything. I went straight to the reviews where I found that this place already doesn't have many happy customers, and now I am dreading even going in for anything. I'll probably never use the gift card. Save your money and get a Mitchell's gift card (or anywhere else, really) as a gift for your loved one instead of identity.

I went in to the salon, and was extremely hesitant to have anyone touch my hair (its been fried off, dyed black when I asked for brown etc at other salons). I spoke to the lady at the counter and still wasn't comfortable, but there was another woman working (Brittany) and she had overheard all the trauma I had with my hair. She was very caring and understanding and after speaking with her, I felt at ease. Very knowledgeable and personable, I agreed to let her do my hair. (My hair is a correction, not just a cut and color). I found a time and went in to have her work magic - it came out better than we anticipated although not perfect - but that was no fault of her or the salon - that was what she was working with. I will absolutely go back and let her work on my hair - the cost is unbeatable and the quality is top tier!

Highly recommended this place, been looking for a good barber and I found him here. Worth the wait for a haircut.
