I loved everything about this restaurant. We had some very unique sushi with amazing flavor combinations. The sashimi is the best in the state by far. We were able to make reservations which I highly recommend. They only take reservations for large groups before 6. It's my understanding that you will then often have to wait upwards of two or more hours to be seated. If you've got the time, it's definitely worth it.

Quality and authenticity of this place is fantastic. We ordered miso soup, the flank steak, and the sunshine role. The steak was very tender, and for me, just the right amount of spice. It also came with a green salsa, that made the taste even better. The sushi roll was great. At only $10, there’s not a place where you can find a better $10 roll. We didn’t have to wait to get seated, as we came around 5:30 PM on a Thursday. I was in a party of two, and we felt a little crammed along the extended booth seating, right next to some other tables, but it wasn’t too bad. I also was wondering why they didn’t have refillable soda, but those were my only minor complaints. Overall, fantastic place to eat, and not very pricey, neglecting the rumors that I had heard beforehand.

Prices are reasonable. Lines are long outside the building as soon as they open, and we waited maybe 40 minutes for our food. They tend to stay away from cream cheese, deep fried rolls, and shrimp. If you like those things, this place is not for you. We've been to most other sushi places in Utah, and I can confidently say that this place is nothing special. If you don't like waiting, there are lots of tasty alternatives.

Takashi has been one of my favorite Utah sushi joints for years. My only gripe would be is that I'm not the only one. It's almost always packed to the brim and very loud. Hard to converse with those you're dining with. Prices are definitely up there as well, but the sushi tastes amazing.

I went by myself so I was able to sit down at the sushi bar right away on a Tuesday night. It was BUSY. That being said the staff was very attentive and I had a great time. The prices were fine and the food was ok. I think my expectations were a little too high going in. I'm not sure if it is worth the wait.
