First attempt was unsuccessful because we got there 4:35 but they close at 5, plus there were still many people ahead of us. So the next day we got there 30 minutes before the opening hour but surprised to find so many people had already lined up. My husband hates lining up and waiting for anything, so on top of waiting I had to babysit him the whole 30 minutes. Then finally our turn came and ordered THE famous New England Chowder, Connecticut lobster roll, and Original crab roll. Even before eating I was shocked for a split second the meal cost $59. But I was too excited to let it spoil my experience. First, I tried the chowder, and it was good and creamy but not wow-good. Second, the crab roll was too salty to my taste. Feeling a bit letdown, I tried the lobster roll lastly. It was seasoned okay but the lobster was gummy and flavorless. In short, if you're going to try, just try the chowder only! If the line is long, not even sure if it's worthy. Also, It seemed obvious that they use frozen crabs and lobsters and that's why they were over seasoned or flavorless. I wouldn't have paid for that much money for frozen ingredients.

Best food is usually found at places not in plain sight. This place is more or less a hole in the wall in a side alley. Chowder and ambiance are both wonderful. You may see a long line of customers but it’s definitely worth waiting. And, line proceeds very quickly so wait is less than what you expect.

Excellent Chowder and seafood rolls! Made with the freshest ingredients, it isn't hard to see how this place wins many awards throughout many chowder contests in the country for best seafood chowder. Their secret lies in the ingredients and care taken to prepare each bowl or bread bowl! Prices may be a little high, but it's seafood, of course it will be! At Pike Place Chowder, you will get what you pay for: a bowl of delicious chowder stewed to perfection and a fragrant roll overflowing with fresh fruits of the sea. Highly recommended!

The lines were long, but it was worth it. The flavors were on point for the chowder and lobster roll. it's very delicious. I would def recommend this place. The bread on that lobster roll was so buttered, but yummy with each bit. There's a huge line here for a reason! This is one of the best chowders I've ever had and always come here when I visit Seattle. Don't be discouraged by the line because it moves very quickly.

This place gets packed. Their insane reviews garner lots of traffic. Their chowder though is superb though. Their lobster & crab rolls are great too but extremely expensive for this style of restaurant. A half roll runs about $15. I would frequent here a lot more if their rolls were more reasonably priced
