Family Mediation and Counselling Centre
311 George St N, Peterborough, Ontario, K9J 3H3, Canada
It is unfortunate that QUEEN BEE is dissatisfied with the mediation service provided. I have worked with a vast number of couples who expressed their satisfaction and who were extremely thankful for the opportunity to work towards an amicable and affordable resolution during a particularly stressful time. Prior to this client as with all couples I discussed the Agreement to Mediate with the Centre including the hourly rate for both sessions, which are paid thereafter and once their negotiations were concluded there would be additional fees for drafting their agreement, etc. As discussed, it is not possible to establish fees for time and work yet to be provided. Nevertheless, this client freely read and signed the Agreement, in fact initialed the particular paragraph acknowledging she understood and agreed. I am a member of Family Mediation Canada and have been for numerous years and by choice, not a member of Ontario Association of Family Mediation. As well, I have no say in other mediator's fees especially those funded by the Ontario Government. It was strongly suggested to this client and partner to seek independent legal advice and in fact I asked them to take my suggestion home, consider it rather than making a hasty decision to have them return advising "lawyers cost to much" and would not seek independent legal advice, signed the Centre's required Waiver as well as the Separation Agreement. This client did receive an invoice for additional fees as outlined in the Agreement to Mediate which consisted of $332.50, plus $7.50 disbursements and $55.57 HST which hardly falls in the category of bankruptcy. In closing I sincerely wish the best for this client in her future path.

This is an excellent resource for the city of Peterborough and surrounding areas that supports victims of sexual abuse and assault. They offer counselling and therapies, as well as drop in services for clients of KSAC such as Purls of Wisdom, Wings & SEED. If you are in need of help, do NOT hesitate to contact KSAC. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and trained to handle issues surrounding victims with PTSD, depression and anxiety. They are a ray of light in my life as I'm sure they will be for those who might be wary of getting help.

A truly wonderful resource that helped put my financial situation in perspective. They helped me understand my debt, create a personalized plan, simplified my debt into one bill, and helped me stop the interest on my bills. I would recommend this free resource to anyone experiencing credit issues.

I personally didn't find his narrative therapy approach much help for marriage counselling. He's a very warm and likeable therapist, but given his narrative approach, he didn't offer much in terms of feedback. Great if you need a good listener, but this didn't help us much. We could have just fought about our issues at home, and saved the drive. I personally think marriage counselling is pretty tough to begin with, but I left feeling much worse than when I walked in. My husband was very emotionally abusive and I didn't feel very safe in his sessions. I was quite traumatized by the experience.

Encouraged abusive behavior from parents, as well as lied about what constitutes abuse. Absolutely unempathetic. Hated kids/teens. Inflicted trauma. Treated clients like criminals for no reason.
You can do way better. Find someone else.

The Canadian Family Health Collective, good therapy is all about helping the client to feel better, to make healthy decisions and set healthy boundaries, to move from a place of poor emotional health to good emotional health, to make connections with others, and to replace sadness, anxiety, anger, and frustration with happiness, peace, and hopefulness for the future. I feel the Canadian Family Health Collective team works very hard at meeting these goals. I would highly recommend the Canadian Family Health Collective
Kinark Child And Family Services
380 Armour Rd, Peterborough, Ontario, K9H 7L7, Canada
Upon meeting our caseworker in an intro one on one between worker and parent, worker stated child's anxiety attacks should be dealt with using consequences for the anxiety response. After asking questions about our family and not bothering to listen to my responses before responding, suggested I need parenting classes (alluding that my child's anxiety is somehow a result of parenting, despite anxiety running through all family members on both sides). I walked away wondering if this person has any real education in child psychology ( and of course, their qualifications aren't listed anywhere)....we have decided to see a Professional at a cost instead of using Kinark's questionable free services. They say you get what you pay for....
