My deck is large, beautiful and changed the entire face of my house. It was built in a total of twenty four hours and I count be more happy it impressed with the speed, quality and professionalism of the contractor. It was like blink and it's done and better than you could have imagined. Building the dream is their slogan and they most definitely built mine.

We hired Big City Developments to renovate our master bathroom this year. We were expecting a professional job that just did not happen. I would not engage in any contract with Doug as he lies as freely as he breaths. If you still decided to work with Doug and company I would caution you to make it a cost plus contract, avoid the fixed cost version as he will cut every corner possible to maximize his profit up to and including not getting the required permits or city inspections as he did with us. Also ensure he uses licensed trades on your project, if not, run. I wish I could post pictures on here to show the lack of attention to detail with his work. In conclusion, if you’re looking to pay top dollar for less than substandard work, Doug is your guy.

I had contacted them asking for a quote on a set of stairs from a balcony on the main floor of my home which is a walkout, down to my backyard. I was asked to come in for a meeting and was unable to so they told me if I sent in pictures and measurements it would not be a problem to get a rough idea of what it would cost and then we could set a meeting at that point. I followed up multiple times over the next month and had still received nothing from them, multiple times I was told "you will receive it tomorrow" or " you will have it by the end of the day" and still nothing. Then they ask me to book an appointment again after I complain about it taking so long, beyond frustrating. I understand that an appointment would need to be made for them to give me an exact number but if this was such an issue why not say that from the start? In the time I've wasted waiting for them I could have hired another contractor and maybe even had the project completed by now. The complete lack of respect for my time and the lack of communication was very disappointing and I will absolutely never recommend this company to anyone. I hope I was just the unlucky person who got this horrible customer service, they were polite on the phone and profession in emails as well but it was just a huge waste of time, I would say for all involved but they didn't do anything or spend any time trying to help me. I hope they can learn from this and realize they dropped the ball on this one big time. keep this in mind when dealing with them.

I have used Homestead Custom Carpentry for new builds along with renovation work. Quality of craftsmanship, organization of projects, timeliness of completion and accuracy in initial building quotes were all exceptional. I look forward to working with this company in the future - as it is a rarity to find a group that maintains such high integrity in their work. I would strongly recommend them for any project.
