I have the most respect for the front line women on the floor, unfortunately with no managers with skills to respect their work, it makes it for difficult for employee and client, alike.
be prepared to pay over $750/month for an extra bath for your loved one (I can prove that statement) and over $5,000/hr to change hearing aid batteries (that is not a typo, do the math)..

Very poor treatment of the elderly on the 3 floor reserved for the people needing more help (dementia, etc.) . My grand-father was left for 2 weeks without heat in his appartement which caused him to go to the emergency for a pneumonia. He was also left without any running water for multiple day... at both of these events my family made multiple complaints which were clearly ignored.

My husband has been at this facility for the past 6 months, and I have nothing but praise for the Staff and Administrators. It is more like a family than an institution. Everyone is there for the residents. I just wish the government would give more money to help our seniors in need, in the way of help for the overworked staff. I have had out of town family come and they said the same thing, it doesn’t feel like a nursing home and they were impressed by the staff. I thank my lucky stars that my husband is in such a wonderful place. No one wants their better half to be there, but if it has to be I am glad it is the Carleton Lodge.
