Wonderful staff!!

My mother lives here. Nine days ago the only elevator for the apartment dwellers broke down and as of today they are still awaiting parts. They have kitchen staff assisting people down the stairs if necessary. Being concerned I phoned the owner of this residence, he advised me that he had a repair company in to replace a broken computer board. That did not resolve the issue and he now states that parts are coming from the U.S. which are stuck at the border. This matter should have been expedited from the start and was not. This home is very expensive and today I found out that the reason parts are coming from the U.S. is that they are cheaper there??! So my mother and other residents are literally stuck on their floors if they are unable to use stairs for e.g. a resident who requires a walker. Unacceptable!

My mother has been a resident at the Colonial for 5 years. She loves it and she considers it “home”.The staff treat her as family and give her the respect and love as if she were their Mom. The residents all look out for each other and enjoy the full schedule of recreational, craft, and exercise activities. Outings and fabulous entertainment round off each full week of activities. I would recommend the Colonial to anyone having to help their parents transition from home to a retirement residence.

awesome staff, they take good care of their residents and are very friendly when it comes to new people that enter, whether its a new resident or guest/family member that came to see a resident. Its all planned out and well constructed with a nice patio and things to-do for the residents.

Well Trained, Amazing, Caring Staff! When we picked Lynde Creek Manor for my mother we did so because of the beautiful facility, great menu and activities. It wasn't until Mom was there for a couple of weeks that we became aware of how caring and engaged all the staff are. The housekeepers, food staff, front desk clerk, PSW's and Nurses all engage the residents with cheerful banter and suggestions for a fun day at the Manor. We could not have made a better choice.

Nice PSW - very disorganized administration. Owner stood me up a couple of times. Recommend PSW, not necessarily the organization.

Be aware of the level of care you choose. If you are very independent this may be a great place. But if you require more care, e.g. assisted living, be aware that they skimp on PSWs , the doctor on staff was totally not competant to care for elderly. My mother almost died in their care, had she not fallen and been rushed to the hospital, with advanced congestive heart failure, Afib, urinary tract infection , open legs weeping fluid. Was told all this was normal for an older person (88). Luckily was able to get her into Del Manor Elgin Mills , where she is now thriving.
