Saved my moms life

Normanna is a wonderful place that provides exceptional care. My mom was a Normanna resident in their Norheim section for 2+ years. Staff members were kind, patient, and always ready to assist her with whatever was needed. The atmosphere is warm and homely, and there are plenty of activities that help residents stay active and connected with others. I’m grateful for the care our loved ones received, which made them feel comfortable and well-looked-after. Knowing our family member is surrounded by such a compassionate team gave me peace of mind every day.

I was unsure about my Grandmother going into a rest home. After talking to other families and being there myself I found it to be a very happy place. There is a calendar of events for the month with 4 events each day. I can purchase a meal and sit and eat with her. She can go to the hair salon or the store in the hall. The biggest bonus for me is the care. I love the people who work there and the volunteers. Wonderful people. It has put my mind at so much ease I just am so grateful to know that even if I get sick she is cared for. Thank you so much for all you do.

This place is not as they make it seem to be on the Google page or online anywhere. In fact it's quite the opposite actually. And the staff Nurse's are not all as respectfully as they claim to be on the website. The last time I was visiting my father there was a rude nure who Came into his room and said to him that he had to come and eat right now because if he didn't do so no one would feed him at all for the rest of the night leveling him hungry if he chose to continue Visiting with me. Witch I upset my dad varry much myself as well but she didn't seem to care

We have been using Care on Call to provide companionship and care for my mother for about 2 years in Vancouver and now in White Rock (they have a new office in five corners). They have been very helpful and the caregivers are pleasant, kind and competent. They looked after her needs by helping her shower, made the bed, tidied up, laundry, made her eat, and helped her to bed at night. It’s important to me to support LOCAL family businesses which is another great reason to choose Care On Call. Thank you again and Welcome to White Rock, BC !!!!!

My mother's been a resident at Concord since 2010 and has nothing but compliments about this fine facility. On my visits - I found the place very well kept and the staff very professional and competent in the discharge of their duties. I was also told by my mom that the kitchen staff very considerate towards specific dietary requests. The grounds are immaculately looked after and the facility located in a very nice Whiterock neighbourhood. Lastly, the administrator Holly's been a pleasure to deal with.

Great retirement residence, good fun, laughs, lots to do. Great food and wonderful service and staff. The absolute best place for my parents. They love it!

Deleting reviews will not get you anywhere. Dealing with the problems with your disrespectful staff towards residences will.

This retirement community is a popular choice for long term, White Rock locals who want to stay in their neighborhood after they are unable to live independently. We have moved several older adults into this community and the social and recreation options seems to be what they love about living the place. I find the staff to be caring and engaging. Compared to larger retirement communities the staff at WR Seniors Village seem to know the clients on an individual/ personal level which helps foster the sense of community The suites range in terms of size and layout. The pictures attached to my review show a smaller 1 bdrm unit. The patio (not shown) is modest but provides space for a person to have a chair or two for spring and summer socializing outside.

I work there

The English Manor was our worst nightmare. We moved our Mom into The English Manor based on all the facilities and care that Sue and Charlie claim to provide. Our mom has dementia and had been living independently with care-givers in attendance for 12 hours of the day. As she was beginning to require overnight care we thought The English Manor could provide this. Sue and Charlie told us that we would no longer require our own daily care-givers as they were particular about who they would work with. Our Mom told us many things that upset her about the English Manor and we all feel very ashamed that we blamed it on the dementia and didn't listen. This finally changed when we received a phone call at 6 am from The English Manor saying our mom had a cut on her head and needed some stitches. Somehow she had fallen and they'd found her on the floor. When we took her to emergency we were questioned extensively about how this had happened as it was more than a small cut and she should have been attended by an ambulance. They would not let us return our mom to the same place and called in a senior specialist to help find us a new care home. The English Manor looks very nice and is kept very clean. There are no programs except for a TV. The meals provided were healthy and tasty but the schedule was rigid. Lights go out and there is nothing from after dinner until breakfast.
