From a competitive standpoint Gracie Barra Northridge and Professor Romulo Barral are one of the best in the world and should be sought out if it is your goal to compete. However after 6 months of training I have noticed that the gym's family like atmosphere and professionalism in all aspects rivals even that of it's competitive reputation. Team Romulo Barral really starts with a team of coaches that can be trusted to bring unique individuality as well as the strong ethics that the gym is known for. I have been extremely impressed with Coaches Edwin, Gabriel, Jaeson, Peter, and Jason. There are many more coaches that contribute to make this gym truly special which shows you are never short on quality that is expected here. The kids classes ran by the kid's head instructor Coach Jaeson bring the positive energy, discipline, and structure you'd be looking for in those type of classes. Having experience teaching kids Martial Arts myself in the past I can see the integrity in the classes and that's a very hard quality to actually find in Martial Arts these days. As adult classes go you will gain a great experience and will be instantly glued to the complexity, usefulness, and self-esteem building that Jiu-Jitsu brings to the table. You get all that in it's purest form at Gracie Barra Northridge. Wrap all that up with now a new state of the art facility in a great location and you get not only one of the best overall Jiu-Jitsu schools in the world, but one of the best Martial Art schools in the world as well. It's been an honor to be on this journey with everyone at Gracie Barra Northridge, one that I hope will continue on for a life time.

Very good martial arts school for kids: ju jitsu, judo, karate

I would definitely recommend this school to anyone of any age that is looking to learn martial arts and get in shape. Yin's teaches traditional values and has a friendly and motivating atmosphere. You will learn directly from Master James Co who has a ton of experience in fitness and martial arts and is an excellent instructor.

Fantastic dojo for kids and adults. Sensei Scott is so patient and entertaining to the kids and so charming to the adults. He goes above and beyond to teach and still keep everyone happy. We've been going every week for years. The camp is great too.

Found my new workout spot guys! I've been wanting to bulk up so I've been looking for some new things to add to my workout. A buddy suggested that I try boxing, and told me about this place in Tarzana. I've been twice so far and definitely plan on going back! The facility is really good and the staff is very helpful.

Effective martial art for Any body size and any strength level. Excellent instructor who has a great temperament for kids class. Sifu Alon has an extreme depth of knowledge and is able to simply convey concepts as well as give in-depth explanations when needed.

Very good Dojang, it's like family. Student wins medals in competitions. Master Kim Lino teaches very well to his students. Thumbs up!!!
