East Bay Aikido, run by Sensei Tom Gambell, is a rare blend of training and delight. The humor and experience with which he relays the lessons of this 'compassionate martial art' have kept me coming back for 9 years. I have never had so much fun or gained so much personal confidence by falling down and getting back up, or by helping others do the same (well, it's more complicated than that, but in a way it's not). This is a welcoming, supportive atmosphere promoting balance, flow state and the appropriate use of strength. The space (dojo) is beautiful and serene. This dojo puts the 'art' back into martial arts.

Mr. Moore is gifted with children and extremely entertaining. He teaches very important and helpful principles to the class, which is why both of our children are enrolled.

Great place. Went there for 8 years but sadly had to move across the U.S. Great people working there with amazing personalities and I heavily suggest going or taking your kids there for life skills like discipline and respect.

I am a veteran of 6 years and was new to Oakland looking for a place that accommodates both community and fitness, MMA Bravo Zulu offers a safe place that empowers veterans and the community. I took the Women's Kickboxing class and often leave the gym with new techniques and a positive sense of empowerment. Nick accommodates your schedule and offers a safe and high quality gym for you to train at. From strength training to developmental techniques, MMA Bravo Zulu keeps me constantly learning to better my fitness goals. I would highly recommend MMA BRAVO ZULU.

Though I do not train at Esteller Academy, I have had the opportunity to visit this Dojo and was greeted as a special guest, front and center on the matts and was provided a demonstration from the students. As a life long Marital Artist, this is one of the most Family Oriented, Professional places I've ever been in. What an amazing place and I've been blessed to have met these wonderful people. Ron was born to be a teacher and a leader, with high integrity and values. He has a powerful vision and flawless execution. These are not just students, they are family to him.

Traditional Shotokan style taught with a modern relaxed view. lots of basics as well as practical applications are taught. Sensei has 20+ years experience. i've been going for 15+ years and continue to learn new things. it is a great experience for both beginners and experienced martial artists.

Really great selection of Kung-fu weapons. I found many bagua items there that I haven't found other places. They also have some premium weapons that are very nice!
