Great kids class. Both instructors and families are kind, inclusive and helpful.

This has been a great place to learn martial arts. My son and I have been here for three years and the experience has been absolutely great. This is no nonsense, achievements are based off of your abilities and your knowledge of your materials. I really do appreciate that. It's a valuable lesson that my son is learning that you don't get to the next level without putting in the work. I've seen my son grow quite a bit through this experience going from the children's classes to the adult level. I highly recommend this to anybody who's looking into martial arts. No matter what your abilities are it will improve on them. The staff is absolutely great.

They hold classes in the A2 on california college of the arts campus. This isn't their main gym. It's fun hard workout n you learn some nice fighting moves.

The teachings of Mark Sensei go above and beyond what the novice would imagine for learning karate. While I figured that I would get a good workout and the basics of karate when I registered for Sensei’s adult bootcamp, I had no idea I would learn all of that and yet so much more from six lessons. With a gentleness and uplifting demeanor, Sensei was always encouraging, and we left each class with a feeling of accomplishment. One of the biggest takeaways for me personally was the philosophies Sensei taught and continues to teach — not just to us adults but in his kids classes too — that can be used in everyday moments. Mark Sensei is a true inspiration to students far and wide — the young, the old, the novice, the black belt — as he demonstrates and even trains right next to you. There is never any discrimination; Sensei shares his gift with all who choose to accept. I recommend Mark Sensei and his classes to anyone remotely interested in the martial arts!

Sifu Troy Dunwood is an excellent instructor. If you want to learn traditional Chinese Martial Arts, this is the place!

Hap ki do classes, kids to adults, beginner to advanced, Master Kim is a very good instructor. Prior service, works with police sometimes, but great with kids too. Grand Master, your own local Mr. Miogi! (omg, don't kill me Major Kim! Had to bedone, lol...)

I've been training here since 2008 I started when I was seven years old. Every staff member has been an essential part of my martial arts & personal education. They're constructive and work incredibly well with students of all ages. I have learned so much from my Sensei's that I know will stay with me for my entire life. the level of responsibility, work ethic, Self discipline, and focus that I have learned here is priceless.. And now as a graduating Senior in high school class of 2017! I can say first of all that this experience has helped me get into the college of my choice, and i feel that the Life Skillz that where taught to me have helped me to get to that goal!!! If you are invested in your child, if you are a parent of intent then send your child here it will be the best investment that you could possibly give to them!!!!

I have been training since 2008 at Eduardo Rocha BJJ Oakland, and I can't say enough good things about him and the academy. Eduardo has a huge knowledge in Brazilian jiu jitsu and he teaches each techniques with an amazing precision and details. If you want to develop a solid game with a strong technical base, this is the spot!
