My son has been going to this place close to two years. And even after moving further away from where we live, it is well worth the drive. Leo has given more to my child than I could ever imagined. My son had a bit of an attitude problem and throwing fits at times. His father and I have divorced and my son took it hard. So I decided to get him in something, and came across Shinkyokushin Karate. He let my son come in for the three day a week practice to see if he would like it or not, and that was two years ago. My son has more confidence, more patiences, and he has stopped throwing those little fits. My son loves learning from week to week. My son would tell you he loves everything but the squats, LOL. So thank you for bettering my son's life in every way. It's not just a place you take your kid so they learn something, but its also a family that is ever growing.

This review is a little overdue but i was in town 2 weeks for work and had a blast training here! The guys at Ronin were super cool and made me feel welcome from the moment i walked in. The head instructor really cares about everyone's training in his gym including guys like me who were only going to be there for a short time. This is definitely a great Gym for grapplers looking for comaraderie, solid training, awesome instruction or for travelers looking for BJJ home while away from home

Best training you’ll get in Reno/ Sparks.

WOW! This is by far the best gym I have ever been to! At first I was hesitant because I don't consider my self a fighter at all, but after I went in and toured the facility, I realized that fighting is not the focus! It's fitness! They offer an array of classes from Daily Ultimate Training (kind of like a cross fit style class) , to kick boxing and boxing conditioning, to a regular weight area, this place has it all! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the coaches know how to push you, while still keeping it fun! All the equipment is BRAND NEW, which was a big plus for me. I have been a member for the past few months and have enjoyed every single moment of it. I have also noticed a drastic improvement in my physical health, and fitness. Great place for kids, teens, and adults to train taekwondo. First Taekwondo is one of the largest schools in Northern Nevada and Master Ron Tanner is the best in Northern Nevada. The school's environment is exciting and positive and I'd highly recommend checking us out and trying out a free class, young and old!

This place is amazing! It’s truly the only workout I’ve found that fits the way I need to be coached. The trainers are great and I feel like there is a trainer for every personality!

Mullin Sensei is an 8 dan in Shotokan Karate and has been practicing martial arts since he was 16y.o. His training method is easy for beginners but it will give them at the same time a different perspective. He's been part of US Karate Team in the early '80s. He's a kind and humble but firm person to learn from. I'd recommended him in a heart beat to anyone specially my family.

My sister takes the Masala Bhangra class and she loves it. The class isn't only for ladies. It's actually traditionally a man's dance. Both men and women can enjoy this fun workout!!! Personally, as a percussionist I think that the drum beats in the Bhangra music are really cool!!

Even though this school might not have that many students they still manage to keep it up and running, how you may ask well thus school its full of students and teachers that help one another to advance and get better in there martial arts eduction, and not just randomly give away belts to those who don't deserve it like other martial arts schools I know of

My son loves this school, Master Maeng and staff, they all are very friendly! Master Maeng keeps all parents up to date with all important updates and information and we get text messages about all school events. Also they have a day camp when school is closed - and it's very helpful! Highly recommended!
