Private Schools

After Jane and Kris have been home schooled, it was hard choosing the right academy for them. My wife shared with a friend at her book club that we were having a tough time getting them into the right school. Her friend recommended West River Academy, and let me say, we are happy. Not only that its accredited, but it’s in a great location!

This school kind of ok but it can be better and I know how!

I love this school so much. I wish i was here in preschool.

A unique experience for kids in a cookie cutter world

I go here and i dont like it. The teachers are over sensitive, if someone were to push or hit you ylu are not able to defend yourself and hit them back or you will get in trouble as well. We have multiple classes but only two teachers. We have no lockers or anything like that and we only have 3 classrooms. This school is just weird.

Hello I was a parent at St.Andrews for Six years until February 2017. I had many concerns involving some of the teachers being bullies to my Son including the Principle and Vice Principle and also the Father running the school. When calling the school I was always told there was no one I could speak to. When calling the Father I would leave messages for his assistant and never receavied a call back from him. Same with the superintendent. This school is very concerned about punishing students not teaching as a school should be.

This school is part of our family. My son started preschool here at age 3, and is still here 9 years later. The kids all attend each others' birthday parties, know each other's parents, and generally ACT like an extended family. The teachers here are bright, dedicated, and have class sizes small enough that every student gets loads of attention. The parents are part of the fabric of the school; the community here is very inviting and accepting. There are frequent field trips, to keep the kids engaged. Parents are involved in much of process of keeping the school running, so the sense of community is very strong; though occasionally amateur. The place is TINY; it's more like a large extended family than a small school. I often say that it's like hiring someone else to homeschool your kids. We love it, while fully admitting that it isn't for everyone.There are a couple of private-school assumptions that people may have; If you're looking for a one-stop shop, where you can drop your kids and forget them, this is NOT your school - parental involvement is a big part of the experience here. Similarly, though it is connected to a church, this isn't a Bible school; The values of peace, kindness, and communion are both modeled and taught, but any doctrinal instruction is viewed as parental prerogative.

I go to the church next by and have been truly blessed. Thank the Lord!
