Private Schools

Our school has provided education in the La Canada Flintridge community for 30 years and operates out of two locations. The school maintains a high academic program balanced with activities to develop practical skills, respect for self, and tolerance for diversity in a nurturing and safe environment. Students are taught in the Montessori method of education - Pre-School through Grade 2. Thereafter, they gradually transition to Mainstream teaching using California Recommended Standard text books and take the Stanford Achievement Test (10th Edition) in the spring of each year. Mainstream learning continues till Grade 8 when the student leaves our school to further his/her education in the school of his/her choice. Our school thrives on small class sizes - "Small is Beautiful" - where a child finds himself/herself and leaves us ready to fit into the larger world.

Top notch education. Each of our three children were fortunate enough to attend Chandler and it made a huge impact upon their respective lives. Each was molded by the challenging curriculum, caring educators and lifelong friends that they quickly made. I found that it struck a great balance between developing the kids academically, socially and ethically. My children were very well prepared for future endeavors in high school and college.

I liked this school. It has a lot of memories. Thanks to them I managed to graduate in my dream school Ramon C. Cortines VAPA. The teachers are fun and care about the students education. Furthermore they provide great assistance to the students with thier work. This school is awesome! HII GUYYSS LOL!! LETS GO TO BK!! 😂😂

Excelent school and teachers, it is just a shame that the lack of funding keeps them from being able to make upgrads to the building, grounds and after school activity groups.

The school supplies great education to the children. It challanges students their full potential. I highly recommend Emmaus for your children.

The best school with children of special needs. A place where safety and learning is a priority. I recommend this school to any parent who feels alone and in need of help with a child in the autism spectrum.

I went to Saint Mary's from 4th to 7th grade. I found my love in writing and reading. However, after switching to Carmenita Middle School, I realized how behind Iwas in math and science there was also less opportunities at SMA, such as no computer class. In case you did not know the principal took out the computer teacher to work in the office! It is to easy to get straight As and it is nothing compared to other schools. I wish my friends would be able to have the same opportunities that I now have -katelyn

Odd, that 1 star review is clearly the review of an unhappy tenant for a landlord. Misfiled, I supposed. Back to Waverly - we love Waverly! Our son, now a HS Junior, has been at Waverly since elementary school. At each stage in his development as a person and a student, Waverly has given him what needs to thrive. He loves learning, and has great plans for his future. There are a lot of choices for private high schools in the Pasadena area, but we believe we have found the best school for our son.
