Great school

Best school ever! The teachers and staff are great, and so are the children and families that attend WCS.

We have had three kids at one or both schools for the past five years and we love the professionalism of the staff at both campuses. We think the kids get a first-rate education and really benefit from the best student/teacher ratio in the area.

Global Village School is an excellent homeschool program. We are so grateful to have found it and become a part of this wonderful global community. The curriculum is supportive of nurturing young globally aware, mindful, respectful and unique young people. We love the flexibility of the program which allows spontaneous travel and allows us to incorporate our own unique teaching/learning styles, along with the experienced teacher support, and we really couldn't be happier. GVS fell exactly in line with our family's values and views points about education. My children are still in the younger grade levels (gr.1&2), and the freedom to allow them to guide their own learning while having a supportive well-rounded, flexibile curriculum has been amazing. We love GVS!

It is surprising that an institution that means so well can be so dated, racist and sexist. 5th grade social studies hasn't been updated since George W. Bush was is office. It also refers to Sacagawea repeatedly as "Indian maiden Sacagawea" which is a grotesque way to refer to a major figure in American History. Even the math lessons put women down. 5th grade math lesson 27 is about planning ahead. It says of getting dressed "plan on 5 minutes if you are a boy and 20 minutes if you are a girl (because everyone knows girls need more time!)" I frequently have to stop my lessons to explain to my students that, for example, boys are allowed to take a lot of time to get ready if they want, and that girls aren't required to take 20 minutes to alter their appearance so that they are physically acceptable and fit to be looked at in public. The curriculum needs serious attention and revision.

i go to this school and it works very well we have special activities each day like P.E. on tuesday and thursday Chapel on Wednesday and Devotions on Monday and friday and we will be starting music on monday soonone class is the littler kids kindergarten through 4th and my class is 5th grade through high school you can graduate from there also -C.C GO Cornerstone!
