Private Schools

I strongly discourage those whose kids have no siblings in the Harker to apply for this school. If your kids have no siblings already in the Harker, the chance of your kids to be admitted is very slim, if not impossible. The destruction of your kids’ self-esteem and confidence because of failing to be admitted in the Harker will be disastrous, and will affect your kids’ future forever. Harker publicly declares that they DO have policy to have higher priority to enroll the kids who have sibling already in the Harker. There are only a few openings every year, and there are more applicants whose siblings are already in the Harker. Therefore, if your kids have no sibling in the Harker, it is extremely difficult for your kids to be admitted, no matter how excellent your kids are. My kid has several classmates and friends who have siblings in the Harker. They are not as excellent as my kid, and they never work hard for the entrance tests. But they told my kid that they don’t need study hard and they could go to the Harker whenever they wanted to go. Although a top student, my kid has much less chance to be admitted. Frustrated, my kid no longer studies hard as before, and spends more time in TV and computer games, saying “It’s useless to study hard. I don’t need work hard since you’re rich!”. We always educate our kids to study hard to be successful in the future. But now my kid doesn't believe me anymore. If your kids have no sibling in the Harker and you want to send your kids to Harker, you need think twice. Not only will it waste your time, energy and money to prepare for their tests, more destructively it will ruin your kids’ future most likely.

This nearly 50 year old school, est. in 1976 is a “light on the hill”. With classrooms and credentialed teachers for students aged Pre- K through 8th grade. This is a place where your child will get a Christian based education, learn a new character trait every month and learn in a smaller environment of 20:1 per classroom.

I loved going to school here...back in 1984. I remember memorizing The Touch of the Master's Hand by only hearing it 2 times recited by a 7th grader I thought was attractive by the name of Renee Stone.

Two children graduates into AP HS classes, many friends with an active parent body, beautiful campus too.

We've been at Hillbrook for 7 years and each year the school reports placing over 95% of its eighth graders into their first choice high school - basically all but the occasional 1 or 2 students who get their second choice. The admissions people at the top schools say they love Hillbrook kids.

My Son goes to school here and has been going since he was 3 yrs old. He is now going to Kindergarten this fall and he loves it. We like this school so much because they have a challenging curicullum and great teachers. We are impressed on what my son had learned since he was 3 yrs. old. The teachers are great and the staff overall are friendly. They have a nice campus. I feel safe with the amount of security they have. It is worth your money and I think its worth it. I recommend this school if you can afford it and for those that cannot afford it please do not trash the school and give them bad rating. —

Good church and school.

Excellent Teachers with tremendous knowledge of subjects, and understanding of each students individual learning differences. Principal and staff are excellent, helpful, supportive and so kind to the students. My son has a wonderful place for his studies and has excelled at this school. It is a great place and I highly recommend it!

Truly a great schools area. The staff is like family. My 13 year old attended kidnergarten thru fifth grade, she now attends the King's Academy, My 6 year old started the preschool when she was to and will begin first grade next year. Academically excellent, while providing of fun learning environment. summer school program is also wonderful. I highly recommend Sunnyvale christian school.

Great school! Our daughter has been attending for several years and we're very happy with everything.

Bathrooms are far away from fields. Ample parking.

This school is the only school that you can do mix of homeschool, day school, online school or whatever you want. It has quite a large variety of fun classes if you are a homeschooler. Great environment and education! Homeschoolers are able to participate in sports and many other activities with the day schoolers. Amazing school overall!!

This school has serious communication problem They do not inform the parent of the exam times, school activity times.
