Highest quality all-you-can-eat hot pot I've been to (definitely upgrade to the premium meat option!). Have yet to try the additional dim sum options (just a few bucks per order while you're doing hot pot), but looks interesting. Wish they did an all-you-can-drink option to make this a perfect option for large groups.

Dong Bei Mama

Dong Bei Mama

4737 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, California, 94118, United States
We've always passed by Dong Bei Mama but always wrote it off for 2 ressons: 1. The majority of their clients are from Chinese tour buses and 2. Their name is Chinese is very odd (according to my parents). But then it gets featured in the Chronicle as a restaurant that best represents it's region of China in the Bay Area... ...whaaaat?! And so we came. Twice. In a week because our first time was good enough to warrant a second try of their menu. Be forewarned, the portion sizes here are phenomenonal. Our favorites to date: 1. Beef roll pancake - there's a place on Taraval that makes these amazing beef roll pancakes and then you come here and feel like that place has been ripping you off 10 fold because this one is truly a giant. The fresh cilantro and cucumbers are a refreshing contrast between the thin sliced beef, hoisin sauce, and the wrap itself which may be considered a little thick. 2. Steamed tofu and fish. It's delivery is a long block of soft tofu topped with fish paste that's been steamed together and garnished with sweet soy sauce, oil, and scallions. Truly delicious in my opinion. 3. Dried tofu sauteed with chives. Very simple dish in my opinion, but executed well. Chives had a nice sweet crunch to them without being too strong. 4. Pork belly rice. Huge portions. Plus a very generous helping of braised pork belly that is melt in your mouth decadent. The crunch from the bell peppers and sauteed onions are the only things that bring you back to reality. Overall, service cam definitely be a hit or miss. One waitress definitely knows her stuff though making key recommendations and also turning us away from dishes that she wouldn't recommend. Maybe some people would find that pushy, but all of her suggestions seemed spot on.

Wako Japanese Restaurant

My favorite Japanese restaurant in the city. The fish quality is great and the service is attentive. Michelin star is well deserved. Sitting at the bar is the way to go to get the best view of the chefs at work. They are usually busy so reservations are a must. They do not make fusion rolls.

Excellent French cuisine with above-and-beyond service. Chef Philippe came around and shook hands with guests, offered us desserts to try and generally contributed to a very friendly atmosphere. Other staff were excellent as well and food was delicious. Highly recommended for a date or small group!

It really deserves its high rating. Great food. Just remember to tell them if you want some heat. They assume you want it mild. Good family place.

👩🏼‍🔬🍸🍷🥃Life is such a sweet surprise sometimes! After somewhat of a strange day of deleting old photos and over thinking everything I stumbled into Outerlands and one of the most subtly perfect dining experiences I’ve ever had. If you go I encourage you to sit at the bar near the mixing station. Watching the alchemical mastery of these cocktails coming to life is priceless entertainment. Absolutely nothing on their menu was typical, everything was kissed with that fire of creativity. My meal was out of this world! Highlight, without a doubt, was dessert😋Featured in the photo I’ve attached to this review is their Rhubarb ginger beer float with green tea marshmallows on the side. Their ginger beer is an in-house made kombucha-like fermentation that when imbued with the ice cream and finely grated Rhubarb was pure sensory delight like nothing I’ve ever enjoyed! (Outerlands crew if you happen upon this review thank you for the kindness and the beautiful meal🙏)

This is a good location and one of few places with their own lot in SF for parking. And it's got enough parking to accommodate. This is a large location and has tons of booths as well as large tables for groups. Their milkshakes are quite tasty and they have quite a big selection of diner options and American comfort food.

A little pricey for a burger. I guess it's rare to find a sub $10 burger anymore that isn't fast food quality.

Kirin Chinese Restaurant

Nothing wrong with this place exactly. Just standard pricing, perhaps even a little pricey, and I've had better versions of everything I tried. The hot and sour soup for example was slightly below average, and the pork in it was gristly and actually detracted from the dish. For that pleasure we paid around $12. The Mongolian beef tasted like it came from Panda Express. The clay pot with chicken, fish, and tofu was basically a ton of tofu with some extremely "fishy" fish. Didn't taste any chicken at all. The only decent fish was the salt and pepper chicken wings. Overall, I wouldn't waste your money here. There are better Chinese restaurants.

Sushi good, that's it. We were served by a female waitress, who was very penetrant. After 5 minutes in the restaurant she asked us if we are ready to order and continued asking this after few minutes (it happend 2-3 times until i was very stressed and decided spontanously - by this, we were not more than 10 minutes in the restaurant). We orderd miso soup, some maki sushi, chicken teriyaki and tempura vegetables. The food was really not good except the maki sushi. Miso soup came without tofu, the chicken was nearly raw and the sauce was not good - in total, not really edible :( The male waiter was friendly and helpful - 1 star for the service because of him, the female waitress would deserve 0 stars. Btw, the employees are not japanese people. Maybe this is the reason for the food disaster. In total, positive: the just the taste of the sushi was ok and the price was cheap, negative: taste of every other food and service were really, really bad - 1 star.
