There was a long line outside the restaurant when we got there but it moved fast. Me and my family all really enjoyed our chicken sandwiches, steak and eggs hoagie and donut stuffed pancake! And we all got desserts (blackberry cheesecake and donuts) that were delicious! Happy Mother's Day to me!

Nation's Giant Hamburgers

Nation's Giant Hamburgers

1800 University Ave, Berkeley, California, 94703, United States
Russ Harvey bought a six-stool hot dog stand on San Pablo Ave, where it meets with the end of San Pablo Dam Rd. in 1952 with money he obtained through the sale of his 1948 Buick.[2] He subsequently added hamburgers to the menu of the hot dog restaurant with a focus on large portions.[2] This gastronomic decision proved successful with the clientele. The restaurant's name was changed to Harvey's Giant Hamburgers.[2] Dale Power In 1961 local teenager Dale Power was hired as a janitor and continued his employment from high school to bachelor's and master's degrees at the nearby University of California, Berkeley.[2] In 1970 he purchased his first restaurant in the Jack London Square District in neighboring Oakland.[2] Partnership and expansion He christened it Nation's; the name was decided upon under the belief that they sold the best hamburgers in the nation.[2] At this point Russ Harvey changed the name of his restaurant to Nation's as the two men became partners under a unified brand.[2] More items were added to the menu over time including breakfast, lunch, and dinner items and award winning pies.[2] Currently Power remains with the company as CEO and president, while Harvey has retired.[2] The company has expanded to 24 locations as of 2009 with eateries in six counties.[3] Locations The chain has eight locations in Alameda County with branches in: Alameda, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Oakland, Pleasanton and San Leandro.[3] There are four in Solano County with branches in Benicia, Fairfield, Vacaville and Vallejo.[3] Furthermore, there are ten locations in Contra Costa County including: Concord, El Cerrito, Moraga, Orinda, Pittsburg, Pleasant Hill, San Ramon, San Pablo, Tara Hills (an unincorporated area), and Brentwood, which opened in October 2010. The Castro Valley location was opened in April 2014. The original San Pablo location is no longer standing, and the current San Pablo Nation's is located at San Pablo Avenue and San Pablo Dam Road.[3] on the same site as the original restaurant. There are single store locations in three other Bay Area counties: Daly City in San Mateo County, which is the only Nation's in the San Francisco Peninsula, Napa in the county by the same name, and a distant restaurant in the Central Valley city of Tracy in San Joaquin County.[3] Expansion has brought the chain out of the Bay Area and into the Sacramento Valley. Opening a location on Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights in May 2012, followed by a location in Folsom, which opened in May 2013.[3]

When they say spicy here they mean it. I ordered Spicy Rice Cakes with Chicken which was delicious and super hot. As in I had to finish it the next day hot. I couldn't take a picture of it because I couldn't see through my tears. Of course I'll go back!

Eureka!

This is definitely one of, if not the best burger place in the bay area. It has amazing food and all of the workers are very kind and helpful. The last time I went here I was in quite a hurry (I had to be out in forty minutes) we told our server that and he had our meal high priority for the chefs. They made our meal in about ten minuets and it was absolutely perfect. The meat was a perfect medium. My egg was fried so well you would think that it was done by a robot. I have come here quite a few times and have loved my meal every time. They also have a gluten free option for their burgsrs. Instead of a bun, you can have a nice bed of arugula (a peppery green) under your burger. You should certainly come here, I highly recommend it. If you do come you should try the jalapeno egg burger, it has the perfect mix of sweetness in the bacon, spice in the jalapenos, and the egg is the cherry on top to a perfect meal.

Visited for their Saturday brunch; the menu was varied, groups with disparate and eclectic palettes will find sufficient choices. While the menu has no obvious standout, the food is tasty if not memorable. The staff are exceptionally congenial and personable but not overly so. A great setting very convenient to BART.

This place is beautiful, the food is delicious and the waitress who served us was so kind and thoughtful with us and our toddler. It was a beautiful spring day on the patio. The only thing that keeps me from giving this place 5 stars is the portion size for the price. I ate my ragout and loved it, but I couldn't believe is spent nearly $20 on it.

Great China Restaurant

Great China Restaurant

If you're looking for a good authentic Chinese food dining experience near the UC Berkeley Campus, then this is a place for you! Food: Absolutely amazing. My party ordered a variety of dishes, and I am happy to say that I enjoyed them all. Yet to disappoint. Service: Nothing special, but not disappointing either. Nothing to complain about. Atmosphere: The lighting is aesthetic, and gives off a comfortable feeling to the diners. Might get a bit loud though, but use your selective hearing to your advantage. Extra note: Make sure to make a reservation days before if you are going for dinner. The restaurant gets extremely crowded during its peak times.
