High Park Ski Club

#6-149, 2100 BLOOR ST W, Toronto, Ontario, M6P 1A7, Canada
I am a downhill skier but recently decided to try cross country and put myself in the hands of High Park's Snow School. The lesson I had was excellent. My instructor, Emma, started out slowly, explaining the basics and had us practice each step. When she figured we were ready, she would gradually add in another skill to the point where, when the lesson was finished, I felt confident enough to try it on my own in the afternoon. I have to say that tracking through a snow covered woods is a nice way to spend a day and was made that more enjoyable by a very good lesson!

Highly knowledgeable staff, very approachable, and honest on the best product to suit your needs and budget. There's something to be said for excellent customer service from an independent retailer (which is why I'm saying something here!)

the self proclaimed store manager who turned out to be assistant manager saw an incident in which I was being treated rudely by an over-tasked young employee(which did not bother me too much on its own), but her indifference and attitude when I was explaining the situation at check out really bothered me the most and despite spending 1.5 hours in store narrowing down the kid bike for my son on a hot day I just decided that such level of rude service did not deserve a penny to spend on. I scanned some of the past reviews and noticed the word "attitude" a number of times,.. well here's one more for the record p,s when I asked the first employee about the price I got " I don't know " answer witnessed by the same floor manager, .. later that day I found out that the same bike was advertised on company website as in-store only special for $100 less,.. very dishonest to say the least.

The entire story is long, and has taken place over a number of months. Really disappointed with how the mounting on my skis turned out. Crooked drilled holes, which resulted in crooked bindings... off by 3mm on one of the toe pieces. The work looked rushed and very lazy... like seriously how hard is it to put your drill bit right where the jig outlines it to... But you drill 3mm down and 1mm to the right and then leave the jig with my skis for me to clearly see it.... complete rush and they screwed up. Didn't like that at all, I took them to another shop for a remount and the tech immediately noticed the bindings off! Really disappointing and they still made me pay! Won't be returning there. Id highly recommend bringing your stuff for service elsewhere. UPDATE: Kevin has reached out to me weeks ago and has been nothing but apologetic and sincere in the mistake they had mad. Which to me shows the shop cares and has earned my respect back. They have gone above and beyond by refunding the money from there faulty mount, and refunding the new mount I had gotten at another shop. They have gone even further by replacing my skis which have finally been ordered and as well as new bindings ! They will be swapping out my skis for the new ones which I was really impressed in their professionalism. I will update again as to when I get the skis. Update #2 Kevin Kato, who I must thank very much for his great customer service. I have gotten my NEW pair of skis with NEW bindings. Kevin's honesty, integrity and professionalism has been outstanding solving this challenging scenario. The shop has earned my trust again, and I would recommend them because I now know they will stand behind their service, product etc. Kevin, and the shop have gone out of their way, above and beyond to restore there relationship with me and to genuinely apologize and they have shown it. Believe me. For that I would like to thank them!

Our son attended Evolve Chile snowboard camp this summer and this is what he had to say "The camp was awesome! I made so many new friends and got to experience so much more than past camps I've attended. My counselor, Curtis Woodman, was inspiring and so much fun to hang out with. I also enjoyed the other ski coaches as well. They provided helpful information on things that we were doing that day or were just really comedic and interesting people (Will Wesson and Alexi Godbout). From skiing all day to the nights at dinner, everything was such a blast and I will definitely be attending next year! Thank you so much creating such a great camp and experience.

I have never had better customer service from a retail store in my life. A min before close, the manager Ryan let my son and I in. Stacey (an employee) went above and beyond to search for an item I needed. I have never been so happy with a retail store in my life!
