Popi choreographed the first dance and father-daughter dance for our wedding. Both dances were fun and Popi was awesome! We had no prior dance experience and our music choice was ambitious (including tango!), but Popi made it all come together very quickly. We're super happy!

I first started to learn to dance here Lindy Hop with Mandy, Reesa, Kevin and a slew of wonderful instructors. They instilled in me a deep appreciation for this dance.
Arabesque Canada
Toronto, Ontario, M4T 1T4, Canada
Arabesque Academy is THE school to learn authentic Arabic dance and music. All the teachers are well trained. There is individual attention and encouragement. If you are looking to learn technique, there is no other teacher like Yasmina Ramzy. She breaks down each movement step by step. You'll find muscles you never knew existed :) How wonderful is that? If you are only interested in dancing for exercise and listening to beautiful music, that's OK too. There are many classes to choose from and the school is directly across from the subway. There are drumming classes as well. The atmosphere is friendly and I love this school.

My four-year-old daughter has enjoyed taking ballet classes at Monarch Movement (now Leslieville School of Dance) for the past 2 years. She loves it! Kristen and her teachers are not only top professionals but are also so patient and sweet with the little ballerinas, it’s a pleasure to watch! We also recently tried Children’s Yoga Class and I was afraid my super active girl wouldn’t sit through it but the instructor Alana kept her engaged and interested all through the 45 min class… I couldn’t believe it. Thank you!
Compañia Carmen Romero

From the moment I took a workshop with Carmen, I knew that I wanted to study the art of flamenco under her should I have the chance. Learning with Carmen remains a wonderful and fulfilling journey for me. Not only does she teach choreography but she also focuses on music theory and rhythmic elements, which I feel are key in understanding the true essence of flamenco. Each class is packed with her creative energy and her passion for the art of flamenco. What I love about her teaching style is that she is patient, fearless, and energetic!

A great school. Well-organized, strict enough to get the best out of students. Beautiful studios with appropriate floors & bars. Staff very responsive: one year tickets to year-end shows were sold out, so some families couldn't get enough tix - problem was quickly fixed and it was altered for the subsequent years, so never occurred again.

Charb Arts was recommended to me by a fellow Mom my girls went to school with, and for 2 years we participated in various dance groups, music classes, the arts, PA Day camps.. This place is the holy grail for artistic and theatrical children. My girls loved everything they participated in, the teachers are beyond talented, patient and kind. Each year there was a HUGE recital for all the students and showcased their hard work from the year. I was in awe of how much effort, organization, and love everyone poured into the production. I would recommend Charb Arts to anyone who was looking for a fun program for their child. They have so many options for all age groups. Incredible work ladies, keep it up!!!

My daughter just finished her first year of musical theatre at the SPACE and had a wonderful experience.
Linette is firm, yet kind which I appreciated. The dress rehearsal for the end of year show happened to be on my daughter's birthday and Linette did a lovely job making my daughter feel special at rehearsal, and put on a happy birthday song by new kids on the block.
We initially signed up for only half a year to test it out, but my daughter enjoyed it so much she decided to stay for the full year. She got great experience learning some foundational dance, some singing and what she liked best was the acting and getting a real script. We liked the diversity of the musical theatre class.
I was particularly impressed by the quality and polish of the end of year show, which was at a professional theatre with lighting, music, sets etc.
The SPACE also attempts to foster a sense of community - inviting students to perform at various local parades and other events if they want to opt in.
Class sizes are smaller than we've experienced at other studios which we also liked and it means you get to know the parents as well.
Logistically, it's also well situated - a few doors down from Red Rocket, you can relax with a latte while waiting for class to be over!
In reading previous reviews there was a mention of hidden costs. I didn't experience any and in fact was impressed by the fact that when we signed up, Linette pulled out a box of jazz shoes that people had donated to see if my daughter fit into any of them (which she would have let us have for free) before fitting her for new ones. Also, my daughter has danced at other studios before and parents were always asked to purchase the end of year costume and the price at the SPACE is on par with what we've experienced in the past. For young children, I find they like to play in the costumes after the show is over, so it's nice to own them vs. having to give them back - plus, it's a keepsake for future.
All in all it was a great experience for our first year at SPACE and we are looking forward to next year!

Fun class and a great school. We enjoyed it so much we stuck around and are starting our third class with Soul2Sole. My partner and I took some basic salsa courses years ago and we wanted to get back into it for fun, and also as a night out together. Bought a groupon for a basic course. Roland and Gorete were our instructors and they're head and shoulders above our previous teachers. Added bonus, Soul2Sole has a social dance night were you can come and dance for fun with other students from all the classes, and get some free coaching thrown in.
