They offer an environment that is much like a regular house, with beautiful gardens, a pool, a living and dining-room like setting inside, and loving individual care. If your mom or dad can no longer manage in their own house, but they don't need or want a nursing home, this is the most "homelike" option you could find, and they are treated like family. The location is great, with medical offices, pharmacies, and a number of stores and coffee shops in easy walking distance. Also close to the beach, and seniors/rec centre. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful facility. However, they were not adequately trained in recognizing the true evils of family strife amongst the family members of the dying patient. My mother became a merciless pawn among 3 of 4 adult children whom only fought to have their own agenda realized..to make up for lost useless years, thereby successfully isolating the patient from more than half of her family in her final days. Shameful. More training on legalities and perhaps learning to ask the hospice patient the correct questions in their dying days, would have served her better and showed my mother more compassion. Absolutely shameful.

Over the past 2 1/2 years, I have had an extremely difficult time with my mothers journey, having Alzheimer's with Parkinsonism. When at my wits end, I reached out to Georgian Traditions and met Ilona who handles new residents. She was absolutely amazing and I felt such relief I cried in front of her. I have my mother on their waiting list but in the meantime Ilona introduced me to their team in their Memory Living Neighbourhood. How nice to meet people who seem to actually care. Ilona even extended an invite to bring my mom during the waiting period to join in with some of the many activities they have and get to know people, have lunch and generally get a feel for her new "home". I will continue to post during this journey but hold out great hope that this will be the best place for my mother and she will thrive the best she possibly can in this wonderful environment. Thank you Ilona and also Chris the Activities Director! I should also mention Tanya the Wellness Director who kindly took the time, spur of the moment, to chat with me and make us feel welcome. And as well the lovely caregivers I encountered who helped me in the kitchen and with any question I had finding my way around. THANK YOU ALL, you seem to appreciate just how difficult this journey is for families....

Georgian Heights is a very caring and friendly place to be and to visit. The staff are extremely proud of their residance and the residents. We totally enjoy the time with them.

My husband & I enjoyed a lovely weekend visiting my mother who now resides at Kelso. She jokingly calls it 'the villanous villa', but it is exactly the opposite, the loving, upbeat, well-appointed residence for many dear senior citizens who need assistance with the tasks of daily living. The spirit of hospitality & good cheer is evident the minute one walks in the door of the big foyer. We saw our mother being attended to at meals, at getting up time, at finding places that she had "forgotten", by a large group of well-trained, kind & cheerful people who know all the residents by name. I am very grateful to have found a place like Kelso for my mother to call "home" in these last few years. I was locked in my house for two days by snow up against both front and rear doors. I attempted to get help but I did not know who to contact. I remembered my experience with CCAC after I returned from London University Hospital in 2011. I checked the web site and found an email address. I received an answer from a woman in London who worked in Client Services. She could not help me but gave me suggestions about who I might contact. In my email I included my address and phone number. About an hour or so later, I received a phone call. It was from someone outside my house on a cell phone. This woman from London has a daughter who lives in Owen Sound. She was calling me to make sure that she had the right house. She was with her little girl and they were sent here by the lady in London to shovel me out. That lady's name is Jane Easun.
