First of all I need to say upfront honesty and customer service is very important to my husband and myself. When we went to the store the customer service was very good and we purchased two light fixtures that had to be ordered. We were told that it would take two weeks or more which was no problem. We were called this week to pick up the bathroom light fixtures, here is my issue. When I got the lamps home I opened the boxes and found that one was professionally packed and the other was not. The light fixture that was not professionally packed was not in its plastic and bubble wrap was on top of the fixture. I noticed that the wires did not have a protective cap on them and looked used. When I called to ask about it I was told that yes it was the floor model because the light fixtures were on back order and only one came in. I asked why they didn’t let me know that and be upfront and say ...only one of your light fixture came in however we can give you the floor model if that’s OK with you because the other one will not be here till August. However I was not told that. I was shocked when I opened the boxes to see that one was “used” I called and asked several questions about why it looked like one had been used. Of course when I asked if I could get a discount since the fixture had been used I was told that it was not “used” since it was model from the store. I did not argue with the women on the phone-however it is a “used”light fixture, in my mind, because it was attached on a circuit so the lights could come on. Which was demonstrated to my husband and I when we first came to the store. I guess I don’t understand why they were not up front to begin with and give me the option of whether I wanted to wait for the new one to arrive. Their dishonesty makes me question would it take till August for the new light fixture to arrive? Or did they just say that? Again, it is not that it cannot be used it’s the fact that they weren’t upfront and gave me a used light fixture which I paid full price for. I worked with Carrie to select light fixtures for my new house. She knew that I was trying to stay within a tight budget, and had many suggestions to make in assisting me with my choices. She was professional and courteous. Their team went to the house to measure and she followed up to make changes to improve those choices. When some items were missing crystals or bulbs, they promptly addressed those to help the entire experience easier for me. I highly recommend Carrie and Lee Lighting.

Beautiful store with a great selection of mid-century modern furniture and home decor. It was pretty disappointing to walk into an empty store and be immediately dismissed by the person working. I'd love to support a local business but customer service doesn't appear to be a priority, especially if you're young.

4 Most common types of Jewelry Repairs at Squitti's. Just to help you out with your repair options, and expected time, we offer the following information. 1. Broken Clasps, missing jump rings, open jump rings, watch batteries. This type of repair, can be done in the shop in minutes. We often have the appropriate findings in the gold quality, 10, 14, or 18 Kt gold, or less expensive silver or gold plated clasps or jump rings to repair. I personally can do these simple repairs in a few minutes, time permitting, so the jewelry does not have to be left for long, and often you can wait for the repair, as you can for watch battery replacements. Watch batteries. Not all watches are the same, and some are more complex and some can take a while. Normally the less expensive watches are the easiest to replace batteries in. More expensive watches, with tight seals, require special tools to open, and special tools to close; some are not that simple. 2. Ring resizing and shanks. Ring sizing comes in two directions, up or down. Normally sizing down is easier, unless the size change is great, and their are precious stones involved in the setting, that must be checked to ensure that they have not loosened due to the change. Squitti's has on contract a local diamond setter with many years of experience in this area. Silver rings, with precious stones tend to be more difficult, as are many of the rings you buy on line. Many are imports with uncertain quality standards. In some cases, it is better to change a quarter or half of a shank,since the shank has been worn down, and further sizing down, and more often up, renders a shank that is far to thin. You will be advised of this. Sizing can vary from 2 hours, to 2 days to 2 weeks. 3. Re-tipping Re-tipping diamonds and precious stones, together with a professional buffing, or cleaning renders the jewelry looking like new. Rings should be checked every few years, it only take a minutes to ensure you don't increase the risk of losing an expensive stone. At Squitti's everything in brand new. We do not buy or sell estate jewelry. We can use stones from your other jewelry to repair your jewelry. 4. Stone replacements. These type of repairs take the longest. Claws or the head in which the stone sits may have to be improved or changed. Stones have to be ordered to match, and sometimes small stone make take a while as shipping for one small stone is expensive. Squitti's offers a selection of the finest precious stones available, from rubies, to sapphires to emeralds, many available in a variety of qualities. Diamond selection again is based on diamond quality, and there are many, many options. Repairs, come in may forms, from simple repairs to stone replacements. Thank God, we have been in the jewelry business for decades and are willing to offer our opinion on repairs. If there is a rush for an item, please so advise us, as repair times can vary. When calling to inquire about a repair, it is best to give details of the item, and what is actually happening to it, to help us with the details. I highly recommend working with Modern Lighting. My experience working with them felt like I was in a small town where everyone knows and trusts everyone. I've been looking for a new light for my kitchen for quite some time. I stopped in Modern Lighting and was greeted by Cathy. I showed her photos of my room and she immediately suggested a couple of options both of which I really liked. They had a sample of one of the lights that they allowed me to bring home and see if it would work in my kitchen. Their process was so easy and convenient and I love my new light. The price point was great too!
