Martial Arts

Great place for all ages

My son has trained in Taekwondo since he was 4. When we moved up here and had to leave our beloved school and masters, my son was certain he would not find a new place to call a TKD home. We checked out 11 schools in the area and did trials at 3. It wasn't until we started at Life Champ with Master Park and now with Master Woo and Instructor Jon that we found a great fit. Our son has ADHD and is on the spectrum. The instructors are kind but firm and have the perfect balance of playful and serious during class. They were immediately encouraging my son to his full potential as a student of Taekwondo. Right from his first trial session with Master Park I knew that this experience would be different. My son begs to come to class and is always so mad I limit him to 3 or 4 days a week! I also love that they are respecting my sons choice to test less frequently and ensure true mastery before he moves up. If all you want is to get a black belt in a hurry and rush through....go elsewhere. To enjoy a true training facility where the staff obviously cares for their students success and wants you to truly embrace that Taekwondo is a whole life experience, come here!

Amazing teachers. They are wonderful with kids! My 11, 8 and 6 year old love it there!

Capitol Martial Arts Academy has professional and caring staff. They do more than just teach martial arts, they instill good values that help contribute to the student becoming a good member of their community. Respect for parents, instructors, and others is reinforced in every class. To get promoted you must demonstrate more than just your knowledge, skill, and ability, but you must be respectful. A family has been used to describe how you are treated, and that is accurate.

We previewed the Andrew Gause's Martial Arts program because it had excellent reviews and we joined because the reviewers were accurate. The instructors are knowledgeable and professional and my daughter benefits greatly from the weekly classes. She is building her confidence as well as setting and attaining weekly and monthly goals.

Do NOT send your kids here for after school camp IF you have their driver pick them up at school! Drive your child here yourself! They have been picking up kids after school at Forestdale Elementary for years and for years no matter the driver or whether the van or sport utility being driven they BLOW thru the back gate and have many times almost broadsides me and other drivers, twice in the past two days. I have never said anything because I am an experienced older driver and just shake my head. BUT yesterday and today were the most egregious. The kid driver is making a RIGHT out the back gate of the school and routinely just pulls out in front of straight traffic without looking to see us coming. The law states cars going straight have the right of way and those turning in front must yield and at least look! He is a kid and is driving elementary kids! I have my disabled son in the car, and he has almost broadsided me both of the past two days alone! When I got out to tell him that

Good people and good workouts

This studio has been in the area for a super long time. I trust this school and the age of this school tells me that TigerDen Lorton has been leading the area in taekwondo instruction. Sure, you could attend a school for your convenience. But, if you want the best instruction and ultimately that means getting your moneys worth. I recommend this school.

The "older" instructors are excellent -- good at inspiring respect, focus, and discipline. I've noticed an increase in my son's confidence since he began. All of the instructors remember his name and greet him when he arrives. They encourage him to earn stripes. I like how they emphasize respect for others and emphasize when and when not to fight.

Both me and my fiancé go here. It's a great environment with great instructors. We were just looking for a good workout and luckily found out something way better. We're both getting in better shape, learning a lot, and since we enjoy it, it keeps us coming.

My 3 young kids go here and it is fantastic! We move a lot so we have tried many TKD schools. This is by far the best. Master Lightfoot and Master Janet are the real deal. Great teachers. The school is very organized and clean and the kids really learn TKD and more. Do it.

A great place for kids!

We have loved being part of this community. The instructors are excellent and treat the kind as like their own, but in a professional way. They are flexible with life circumstances and ha e good pricing. Our son has worked up through belt levels and is training as a black belt and has grown in confidence, discipline, and strength. He loves the camps also! Best camps around and best prices!

Angelo is a Incredible instructor who understands practical Self Defense and Martial Arts especially blunt and bladed weapons. I've been training Martial Arts since 1993 and I run my own Mixed Martial Arts gym which teaches Self Defense and Kali/Arnis/ Escrima and I love training with Angelo because I'm constantly learning something new from him. New twist and details on what many think are old techniques. If you train with him him you'll definitely have a "Ah ha" moment that will change how you look at weapons training!

Great after school program my son loves it, does all his homework by the time I pick him up. The instructors are very caring there and he is in a happy, healthy environment.
