Great staff - very professional and caring !! Our 6-year old son has enjoyed the experience and we value the discipline he's learning.

Fantastic summer camp and weekly classes. Kids go on fun field trips and classes are great. Instructors are high energy and engaging. Highly recommend. The staff is always encouraging and positive giving my kids a true sense of accomplishment. The facility is bright and well run and I feel that the kids are always well taken care of.

Shihan Jerome is as patient as he is proficient. I have been working with him and the other instructors for over 2 and Half years and you really are not going to find a better group of people to learn from. Through organization events I have also met the founder of Wadokai Aikido Sensei Suenaka who was a direct student of the found of Aikido O'Sensei and he is an Awesome guy and a lot of fun to learn from. Another really cool fact is that 2 of the instructors in Ashland are father and son and they are the son and grandson of the first American to open an Aikido Dojo in the United States... that's just too cool that I am part of such a deep legacy!

Teaches important life skills

Great coaches with real world experience, passing on their love of martial arts and combat sports. Their instruction is straight to the point and "ego" free. Their kids program, Samurai Scouts, is a fun, instructive way to get kids off of the couch and engaged in their own lives. The coaches work with small groups to ensure that the kids are getting the best instruction possible. The kids are learning core martial arts skills but they are also learning to overcome adversity (which of course builds character and confidence). The outdoor component is a refreshing way to get kids curious about the world outside of traditional school environments.The gym is promoting conflict resolution, citizenship and a love of hands on learning that will last a lifetime. It is by far the best program I have found for my kids.

Love this place! My daughter has not only gained confidence, she has learned to be respectful to her teachers, her family and adults. She enjoys helping out around the house. I have seen a complete change in her in just five months! Thanks Martial Arts World!

Great classes! I was looking for practical self defense, and I found it here at Kenpo Richmond. The class size is small and very enjoyable. Everyone is very friendly, and I always look forward to the next class.

Unlike other gyms, the instructors spend quality time outside the regular schedule to help you with your training and your goals. For boxing, we have our coach Freddy C who is best in East Coast and he always makes us put in the work needed to master the art of boxing. My husband and son have loved training under Master Hubley and staff for several years now. Not only do you learn martial arts- you learn to set your goals and accomplish them. My son is involved with their after school and summer camp programs and has enjoyed both. Nothing to lose but try it- it may change you life!

Master Lee is an amazing instructor. We have seen very positive changes in our Son in the just over two months he has been talking this course. He looks forward to going and is more than willing to give up the xbox and youtube, which says a great deal in itself. My wife and I recently stayed to watch one of the classes and now enjoy doing it on a regular basis. I am proud of the progress our Son has made. Master Lee is great with the kids all together.
