Ryan is very knowledgeable owner and coach. He is detailed and loves what he does! I would choose no one else in town to train my son. Ryan is a recognized black belt and between the Roseburg and Eugene locations, teaches several of the kids classes himself. He places a high priority on the kids' safety and gives them opportunities to compete without pressuring them to do so! Our experience was #1!

EnergiX is a great place to work out or as what they like to call it "train". Everyone is very nice and are very supportive. Coach George and Coach Nik are awesome and you can tell that they really want you to reach your goal. The facility is clean. They have class schedules for morning and night so no excuses as it can accomodate your busy schedules.
Iron Dragon Martial Arts Institute

Martial Arts in America are almost entirely a foreign import. Each art form comes from a place and a time that necessitated their existence. Integral to each art is a philosophy, a "way of thinking" and a "way of being" that each student must learn and embrace.
It's lost on many Americans who like to watch mixed martial arts that fighters have not simply developed their bodies but their minds and their overall way of life in order to be good at the martial arts they've trained in. So people who want to know how to "fight" or "defend themselves" are often missing an important expectation when seeking out training - that their life and mindset must change in order to truly learn a martial art and become proficient at it.
So people who decide to seek out training walk into a dojo and are blindsided by the reality that there is more to Martial Arts than just physical development. It's for this reason that Martial Arts as a whole have a high attrition rate in America - people are unwilling to change themselves.
This dojo is unrivaled in it's holistic approach to developing its students' mind and body. It is steeped in tradition, it values it's lineage, and passes forward each martial art form it teaches with purity.
As a result it is exceptional but also quite formal. This dojo is not for everyone and it doesn't pretend to be.
You literally cannot find better training anywhere but to receive it means you must be prepared to master yourself - body and mind. Training here is a journey that requires humility, respect, patience, and commitment. What you'll find here isn't a dojo full of exceptionally gifted people physically, though there are some who are, but people who have those qualities.
It is an honor and a privilege to train here and I'm happy to be a part of this family. I highly recommend this dojo if you really have a sincere desire to learn and you are the type of person who can commit to something long term.
