Learning so much. The instructor takes it step by step and makes sure to watch you and correct you. Everyone is nice and inviting, makes you feel a part of the team.

I was a member of this gym for almost 2 years. I took all of the different types of classes that were offered here- muay thai kickboxing, karate, and juijitsu. I even enrolled my two young children into their children's martial arts classes. For a long time I was very happy with this place, and can concur with the quality of the classes offered...however, the reason I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone, at least not to any women, is because of one of the owner's- Brian Johnson, who runs this business with his wife, Dani Johnson. Almost from the beginning of my membership here, I experienced what I felt was excessive and inappropriate attention from Brian Johnson. He made some advances towards me that made me uncomfortable and that were not reciprocated. He attempted to interfere with any interactions I had with other male members and/or instructors. He very loudly made false accusations towards me in an apparent effort to alienate me from other members.

High energy. Positive, helpful, and experienced members. Great place to get legitimate martial arts/bjj training. A very humbling establishment! Definitely worth a try.

I began training at Tacoma Aikikai almost a year ago with my son, and couldn't be more pleased with our choice. We looked around at, and heavily researched, a number of other dojos (Aikido and other martial arts) and found the atmosphere of Tacoma Aikikai to be the best for us by far. Ea Sensei is patient, kind, supportive, and extremely competent both in her skills and approach to instruction (as an educator, this was an important aspect to me . . . proficiency in practice and teaching don't always coincide). There is a strong sense of collegiality and family in the dojo, so much so that my wife and daughter have chosen to start training despite having no prior interest. If you are thinking about giving it a try, don't hesitate!

I went to world martial arts and they are the best! Gregg and meachall are the enstructers and they are very good people and very good teachers, when you move up in a belt they dont pressure you into doing it and see if your actually ready. If your going to do martial arts then I recommend world martial arts! 👍

If I could leave no stars I would. The worst company I’ve ever had my daughter be apart of. The owner is a scammer. Multiple classes canceled and no end of semester evaluations or awards. Also the end of semester competition our team was left out of receiving a trophy because they didn’t bring enough. We never got it and I paid like many other parents for the plate label. The owner doesn’t accept responsibility for anything. Nor does she apologize when things are going wrong. And if you make a comment on their Facebook page that she doesn’t like the way it sounds, she will delete it. Then contact you and call you names. After weeks of nothing being fixed I’m done. I will warn everyone from joining this company. She will take your money and not follow through with what is promised. Save your money and try a better place like DEA, Natural Venom, etc. I will never get that look out of my head after repeatedly telling my daughter that I have no answer for her on awards or the missing trophy. Melissa should keep her day job because this is not for her. She ran this company into the ground.

Been going on and off for 2 years.....very knowledgeable and laid back but teaches the art very well with practical uses on the street. If you wanna learn something that will give you real world martial art skills, then go check them out.

Each Sensei here treats everyone like family. Kids are held to a standard, but allowed to still be kids. Since coming here, my three kiddos have all grown leaps and bounds and it rolls over to home life too. If you are looking for a welcoming environment to teach your kids (or yourself) about respect and responsibility while having fun, this is the place!
