San Francisco Shotokan Karate
1350 Waller St, San Francisco, California, 94117, United States
This is an excellent group of people who know how to practice and follow the long lineage of Shotokan karate from Japan. The practice consists of basics/kihon, forms/kata, and controlled sparing/kumite. The organization also connects you with dojos around the US and the world, who all practice in a similar manner. It provides a great mix of mindfulness, exercise and assertiveness.

This place is a joke of a gym, its ran by egocentric mma fighters. its unorganized. any real fighter could tell this place is a playground. dont recommend it super expensive. guy who runs it seemed like it was his job to be a badass. Yah cant wait to get a real gym in town

Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy
601 Clement St, San Francisco, California, 94118, United States
Since joining Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy, my 3 year-old daughter has become more focused and disciplined, and I've noticed a vast improvement in her overall behavior. The instructors and staff are all professional, courteous, and not to mention, world class martial artists. I'd highly recommended this school for anyone wanting to learn martial arts.
Ukiah Aikido
901 S Oak St, Ukiah, California, 95482, United States
With a relaxed, but focused atmosphere, Ukiah Aikido offers a powerful and approachable place to train oneself in practical self-defense, as well as spiritual and personal growth. With capable instructors, friendly and committed students and a large Dojo, Ukiah Aikido is a tremendous opportunity for anyone in this County to train in a martial art for the betterment of themselves and those they know.
I recently received my Shodan (first black belt) and find myself more committed than ever and enjoying my practice on an ever deepening level. Aikido is the way of harmonizing with energy, or the Way of the Harmonious Spirit, and offers an approach to self defense that focuses on defeating, rather than developing violence.I have found that what I am learning on the mat applies to my career, my relationships and my spiritual development in ways that continue to deepen and enhance my sense of purpose and enjoyment of life.
My gratitude to all who are a part of the Aikido community and my welcome to all who are interested in getting to know this peaceful martial art! Please join me on the Mat at Ukiah Aikido!
