This review is a little overdue but i was in town 2 weeks for work and had a blast training here! The guys at Ronin were super cool and made me feel welcome from the moment i walked in. The head instructor really cares about everyone's training in his gym including guys like me who were only going to be there for a short time. This is definitely a great Gym for grapplers looking for comaraderie, solid training, awesome instruction or for travelers looking for BJJ home while away from home

UFC GYM Reno

WOW! This is by far the best gym I have ever been to! At first I was hesitant because I don't consider my self a fighter at all, but after I went in and toured the facility, I realized that fighting is not the focus! It's fitness! They offer an array of classes from Daily Ultimate Training (kind of like a cross fit style class) , to kick boxing and boxing conditioning, to a regular weight area, this place has it all! The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the coaches know how to push you, while still keeping it fun! All the equipment is BRAND NEW, which was a big plus for me. I have been a member for the past few months and have enjoyed every single moment of it. I have also noticed a drastic improvement in my physical health, and fitness. Thank you UFC GYM RENO! #NEWUFCNEWME

Great place for kids, teens, and adults to train taekwondo. First Taekwondo is one of the largest schools in Northern Nevada and Master Ron Tanner is the best in Northern Nevada. The school's environment is exciting and positive and I'd highly recommend checking us out and trying out a free class, young and old!

This place is amazing! It’s truly the only workout I’ve found that fits the way I need to be coached. The trainers are great and I feel like there is a trainer for every personality!

Mullin Sensei is an 8 dan in Shotokan Karate and has been practicing martial arts since he was 16y.o. His training method is easy for beginners but it will give them at the same time a different perspective.
He's been part of US Karate Team in the early '80s.
He's a kind and humble but firm person to learn from.
I'd recommended him in a heart beat to anyone specially my family.

My sister takes the Masala Bhangra class and she loves it. The class isn't only for ladies. It's actually traditionally a man's dance. Both men and women can enjoy this fun workout!!! Personally, as a percussionist I think that the drum beats in the Bhangra music are really cool!!

Even though this school might not have that many students they still manage to keep it up and running, how you may ask well thus school its full of students and teachers that help one another to advance and get better in there martial arts eduction, and not just randomly give away belts to those who don't deserve it like other martial arts schools I know of

My son loves this school, Master Maeng and staff, they all are very friendly! Master Maeng keeps all parents up to date with all important updates and information and we get text messages about all school events. Also they have a day camp when school is closed - and it's very helpful! Highly recommended!

My 4 year old daughter loves the classes on Linkoln ave. It is really fun for her! If you miss the class there is a make up class option available. My older son (10 y/o) have classes in this school as well. It helps him with self discipline and keeps him in a good shape. I recommended this school for my friends who have kids.
Park Slope Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
518 5th Ave, Brooklyn, New York, 11215, United States
Excellent place to take your child (or yourself, they have adult classes too) to help develop body awareness, discipline, and self-defense skills. The instructors are great - very good with the kids, the perfect balance of pushing them to excel and meeting their needs for encouragement and support. This is a 'yes, sir' environment (not harsh, just disciplined) and the right kind of kid will really respond well to it. In a world of everyone gets a trophy just for showing up, PSBJJ is a great way to expose your child to the idea that hard work and fun can go hand in hand.
Somewhere in this list of reviews someone bemoans the 6 month commitment you're required to make. The school is 100% transparent about this commitment and you sign on the dotted line with full knowledge of what you're getting into. You can do an intro class for $20 (including a uniform) and they let my son take a free group class as well to make sure he would feel comfortable. After that, yes, you've got to commit to 6 months no matter what. And you know what? That's a GOOD THING. You don't end up with a room full of one-timers. Everyone is there to learn and to work. Yes, kids get bored and frustrated learning new things. This is a great environment to teach them to push through that - sticking to something is a LIFE skill, after all. We've been there 5 months now and we've turned the corner from 'do I have to go' to 'when do I get to go' and it's great to see.
Highly recommend.
