The Cannery Lodge
2101 Bowpicker Ln #13, Kenai, Alaska, 99611, United States
Pros: Place was clean with nice, rustic wood accents.
Cons: Lousy food for our co. Christmas party. This place took every shortcut w/ meal prep & presentation so the food was scant, really plain, not good. Veggies barely edible. And who stuffs mushrooms that are 3/4" diam???? ---stuffed w/ ???). Dessert sooo simple & was lousy. They even crammed the buffet line in a *tiny* room that was (maybe) 15'x10', & the attendant was only looking at her phone; nice, but not attentive. Ran out of plates.
Final take: Food/drink servers were nice, atmosphere fairly Alaskan, but the food just stunk.

Totally unexpected and DELICIOUS. I had the hot and spicy seafood ramen and 2 rolls: mesa roll and baked lobster roll. Everything is HUGE portion and worth the price. Seafood you can definitely tell is fresh and tasty!
Boardwalk Fish and Chips
4287 Homer Spit Rd #12, Homer, Alaska, 99603, United States
During an overnight stay here in Homer I really wanted Halibut (Halibut capital of the world!) We walked around and checked out several restaurants menus including a very popular place just a few doors down that encouraged reservations and told us it would be a 30 minute wait for a table. We walked out and decided on Boardwalk Fish and Chips. As you can see by my 5 star review we loved it. The halibut was moist not dry and was not overly coated with breading. And what it was breaded with was delicious. So was the house made tarter sauce and coleslaw. I highly recommend eating here. Do be aware that you order before you sit down, and they serve on paper boats. Not a fancy sit down with a server place but very worth it. You can't beat the views either, see my pics!
