I have volunteered as a team manager to both my boys’ teams, during 2014-2019.
The season fees are spent on gym rentals, coaches’ salaries, office rentals, and admin costs to run a business.
Tournament fees in Alberta are usually around 500-650 C$, that are spread out equally per player (who has committed to play in the tournament) in the team.
Tournament fees in USA are usually around 600-850 US$, that are spread out equally per player (who has committed to play in the tournament) in the team.
The travel fees or “Coach’s Fees” are spent on the costs that incur when teams play outside of Calgary and in USA. Those costs are equally spread out on each player that has committed to travel and play. Sometimes a player withdraws their commitment after the budget has been made and therefore the fees will be edited and raised. Not a single cent from one player or team goes towards another player or team - elite or not. Sometimes, individual players are funded by parents’ donations.

I have had nothing but good experiences with CSSC. Mostly play soccer. But I've done flag football and softball as well. And I can say it has always been enjoyable. Sustained an injury last year and was unable to play, and when I told them that, they recouped the fee and covered the next season I was able to play. I would recommend if you're looking to just play and have fun. If you're interested in playing more competitively league I would say this is not for you.

Come to this LA fitness because it’s close to home for me. This morning I was told there would be a wait for my son to go into the kids club as they are not properly staffed for the amount of kids going to the kids club. As a single mom who works full time my schedule is limited. When choosing this gym, I decided because it was close to home and for the $10 a month kids club, it seemed like it would be accommodating to my schedule. Luckily the guy working the front desk of LA fitness spoke with the girl in the kids club and was able to get her to make an exception, the girl working in the kids club however took it upon herself to let me know that this would be a one time exception and in the future there would be a wait as if she was doing me some sort of favour even though they were understaffed. There was tons of other employees sitting around doing nothing, that I’m sure watching a few children wouldn’t have been too difficult for them had she asked for assistance. It’s unfortunate as it’s a beautiful establishment that they aren’t willing to have the proper staff on, or in this case, polite staff.

Daughter and son played Genises basketball this year and loved it. The lab has 3 hoops on a half court and is great for practicing individual basketball skills. Eddie and the coaches were all great.

Good multisport facility but the roof is very low so playing basketball can be difficult but it consists of a soccer field and floor hockey rink with basketball court and boxing ring

I looked up basketball courts in Edmonton and made my way here. When I got there it turns out the courts are restricted to members of the club. I wish they'd indicated it is restricted so I didn't have to waste my time. Looks like a beautiful set of well-kept courts though.

Wonderful facility with a fully equipped gym. I don’t find the pool as big as other recreation centres, but this one tends to do the job. Can get quite busy during peak hours.
