Going to Birds was a great choice. For a guy who habitually gets $15 haircuts that never turn out well, I was ambivalent about paying more. However, Emy did a great job giving me options, cutting my hair, and double checking to make sure it was the right length. In the end, she gave a great hot towel neck shave and put a little product in my hair to make sure it had a matte finish and looked perfect. I would definitely come back and ask for Emy. Logistics: call ahead and reserve online. If you walk in, you get waitlisted. I got lucky because it was a slow day. Also, they will give you a tasty beverage - take advantage.

Visiting Austin for a week and needed a color touch up. The salon has a cool vintage style, and the owner was very kind and welcoming, informing me of all the local hot spots and restaurants that I should try in Austin. She did a great job applying my color and blow drying my hair. I would definitely return to this salon next time in Austin.

Wonderful of you to offer your services to the organization Austin Fairy Godmother. You did a beautiful thing for my daughter for her prom last year (April 2014) and I commend you for being apart of this group to help out the young ladies who really need the lift... thank you, she really did look beautiful!

This review is for tHAIRapy by Heather located at the Salons@University Oaks. Heather is very professional and really listens to what you're asking for which can be rare. She colors exclusively with Lanza products which are very kind to your hair. Her cuts looks wonderful and she is one of those rare people who can blow dry my hair without leaving it looking flat. I would highly recommend Heather to anyone who is tired of hairdressers who don't listen to you.

It's my favorite place, I've lived it since 2009. My hair always looks spectacular thanks to this place. I recommend it to everyone.

It was my first visit and it was pretty good great haircut by z and all the stuff was friendly I recommend to all my friends and family 😊

My experience there was horrible. My son's hairs were not what I asked for, they don't know how to treat their customers. My husband went in to get a hair cut and they charged $22 and said he should be charging $40+ because he's a professional. His hair didn't not come out what he asked for, go figure, and was being rude when my husband said something about it. I won't ever recommend this place too much for horrible cuts.

Wonderful and friendly staff that deliver on point haircuts. Alexa and Max always make me feel very welcome.

This was my first visit. The lady that cut my hair was the sweetest person and did a really good job. I think her name was Marti The haircut was only 15 dollars however she did such a good job I tipped her 10.

So, my first haircut (a Deva cut) with Gracie was the first time in my LIFE I had ever walked out of an appointment actually liking the STYLING the hairdresser had done and feeling like it actually matched ME. It's now two weeks after my second appointment, and this is probably the best haircut of my life and definitely the best curly cut. My previously wavy-kinda-curls are drying curly and staying curly, even overnight, with practically no effort!! It's FABULOUS. Not only that, but I was pulling out my phone to show her a couple pictures, and she said, "I've got one for you too!" and pulled out HER phone. THIS WOMAN IS AN ANGEL WHO ACTUALLY REMEMBERS/KEEPS NOTES ON HER CLIENTS AND ACTUALLY THINKS THROUGH HER PLANS FOR EACH WEEK'S APPOINTMENTS. She told me that for clients (like me) who are terrible at figuring out what they want, she'll even plan out their year! Seriously, an angel. EDIT: I've had a few more cuts from Gracie and you know what, EVERY SINGLE ONE IS THE BEST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE. I LOVE this latest one so so much - once again, it's a great cut and it truly fits ME - and yet, I'm still willing to let her change it again in a few months, because I'm excited to see what she'll come up with next! Seriously, she's so great.
